Ever feel guilty about doing something in a lucid?

For example doing your friends girlfriend, stealing, killing a dream character etc...

I have never had one where I was in controll. So I supose it wasn't lucid. But I do not think it's such a bad thing to have those actions within a dream context. As long as the intent isn't reflected in real life. Thus the beauty of a dream.

I never have, probably because I've only had a few LDs. But I agree with kogatojr, its a dream and its in your own mind. Anyway, better there than in the real world, right?

True. I feel bad even harming dream characters which is stupid but from now on no more guilt in my lucids.

In my opinion, guilt is one of the aspects that prove you are lucid. Guilt shows that you are thinking clearly. Guilt proves that you know how your actions would fare in real life, and you know how you should feel if you performed said action. Lucidity also means that you know you can do it anyway because you know it has no effect on real life.

      If you are lucid, then:
      1. Guilt is present when you are intruding on your morals.
      2. You understand and can control that guilt.

In my lucids, I keep to the same morals as I do in real life. I choose to. If I am conscious in any way, then it's my responsibility to stick to my morals. That's the way I roll.

The whole point of Lucidity is not to be or feel guilty of any action you commit while lucid or otherwise you'll be sucked into the whole situation causing you to loose lucidity. Lucidity = power = freedom = lucidity. Don't you ever forget that

Hell no!! LD's are my time where I can do whatever I please and it's not considered bad because nothing bad came of it!

Yeh i suppose at the end of the day everything that goes on is all in your sub-conscious mind and doesn't affect anyone else but yourself.

Here's a different one. How would you feel if you found out that somebody was having a relationship/affair with your partner in their lucid dreams???

I wouldn't worry about it. Do you feel bad about thinking a thought like that? All a lucid dream is is a really realistic thought.

Doing friends girlfriend? No, I think that's more of a forbidden fantasy.

Stealing? In a lucid dream, you're aware it's not real so why feel guilty? I have never stolen anything major irl or while lucid.

Killing a dream character? I don't recall a last time that happened, but I'm sure if there's reason to...

It's not like you need to steal things in a LD anyway, you can just make it yourself!

No, never. It's a dream and that's that...do what you like in it, just be careful not to let your dream practices carry over into reality, otherwise our society would a whole lot of major problems.

Last night i was driving into my town when there was a person crossing the road so i decided to put this to the test (see if i feel guilty) so i run him over and it didn't feel right somehow although it did feel good in a way because i am allowed to do that, (a sense of freedom) i thought about how people kill dream characters all the time for fun and i hit somebody driving pretty slow (well about 40mph) and i felt guilty.

I have the opposite probelm. I've only had a few LD's so far, but in my regular dreams I sometimes find myself in situations where I would have sex with someone that... well... I would love to dream about having sex with. But I always find a way out of the situation because I don't want to cheat on my girlfriend. Then I wake up and I'm all upset because I just passed up sex with ______ when it wouldn't have been cheating.

Perhaps, to fix this, I should think about cheating more often.

      guiltless here...
but think about it: do you tell your partner when you had sex in your dreams? would that be cheating? then perhaps we SHOULD feel guilty, and we're just imoral bastards... heheh

(My Lucid level wasn’t so high, I was able to control my decisions and the scene however I didn’t know I was dreaming.)(Keep in mind all of my dreams Lucid and not lucid always take place in New York I now live in Miami Florida, the only time I dream of Miami is if in the dream I’m on vacation going to and from Miami back to NY.)

Last night I had one of the strangest lucid experiences in a while quite the vivid one in fact. I was walking West on Delancey Street, parallel street to the Williamsburg in downtown Manhattan, in my hometown. 2 DC Homeless men were standing in my path of direction when they both approached me holding hypodermic needles and attempting to walk toward me point the needles at me, they were laughing and giggling as if they thought it was funny however I was very intimidated by them holding large nail like needless, trying to poke me.

I then reached for my pocket knife and at this point I knew it was a dream and knew I had to get rid of these guys the easiest way without waking up, I then targeted one and went straight for him with the knife, I stabbed him in his stomach
(felt so real like really stabbing a person)
then I pulled the knife out and stabbed him again in the same wound repeatedly until confidently I knew he’d fall once I pulled out the knife from his gut. He fell, now the other I had a little problem he was a bit quick and was hard to get at, but eventually I stabbed him up 2, now here’s where shit got thick, I’m in control of the dream but start thinking it’s real and I now have 2 dead bodies to get rid of (I felt guilty about killing these 2 guys not cuz I killed them but cuz of fear of going to jail)
I then try to walk away but see a crowd of foreign tourists coming my way, there had to be about 8 or 10 of them, they were talking a weird language I didn’t understand, sounded like Spanish but with something else, maybe Arabic. Anyway they were walking toward me and I grabbed the bodies and hid them between some parked cars, as they came by for some reason there was tension in the air like the police were alerted someone had been killed, almost like the movie “Bourne Identity” anyway I then decided I was going to pretend I was with the tourists and that I too was a tourist as well, I walked with them and found that they did speak English as well, but had a strange accent, I then made conversation with them and they invited me to hang with them during their vacation, they were on their way to their hotel, now by the time we reach the end of the street Police are on APB, Red alert looking for the killer “me”.

I then avoid eye contact with the police and proceed to walk with them, a cop dressed in heavy gear like a character from "Gears of War" approaches the group and starts asking for everyone’s I.D. for some reason they knew who the killer was by looking at the I.D. I didn’t want to show mine becuz then they’d know I was the guy they were searching for, and there were 100’s of DC cops in uniforms condemning the streets, putting up barricades and setting up checkpoints, I remember seeing other DC’s nearby getting I.D.ed, since there was one cop I.D.ing the "Tourist" DC group he was so busy checking everyones I.d. that I managed to slip by without getting asked for my I.D.

We then proceeded to the hotel room I remember it being on a high floor with a ramp going from the window to a lake, they had mentioned that they lost someone from their group so it was ok If I replaced that person and stay with them.

Then I was stuck with the bloody knife I went to wash the blood off in case anyone in the group saw it and I hid it under a table, I then gazed out the window at the lake and wanted to dump it in the lake, I tried to slide down the ramp but it was too steep I knew if I went down I couldn’t come back to the room to hide and I’d be caught, I slipped and was holding the window sill by my hands and one of the DC Tourist helped me back in the room but he asked me for a favor first and I had no choice but to say yes (I dont recall his question). I then went back In the room when someone saw me hide the knife back under the table, the DC’s freaked out when they saw I was the Killer and they were harboring me, the word spread quickly throughout the room and panic arises I then took control and threatened to kill them all if they didn’t calm down.

From that point I left the room after ordering them to stay put. I left the hotel and walked down the street, however no police approached me because I looked like I was innocent and that I didn’t even know what was going on
, (similiar to my pokerface in realy life, flawless.) From then on my recollection of the dream faded, if I recall I will post version part 2. Thank you for reading.
