Was it mentioned any reasons why he may have been a lucid dreamer? I think it have been pretty interesting if several historical scientists have been lucid dreamers.
Perhaps people think much about complex things in lucid dreams. What do you say?[/b]
This is one reason why I think Albert Einstein was a lucid dreamer. When Albert Einstein died, they did an autopsy of his brain. For most normal humans, we have a ridge that splits the two hemispheres of the brain. This ridge almost completely splits the brain in most people. Well, in Einstein, this ridge only extended from the front of this brain to about the top of his head. The rest of Einstein's brain was completely connected. Weird huh?

Now, why do I think he was a lucid dreamer? Well, when we lucid dream, we're using both sides of our brain. Lucid dreaming helps people realize their potential b/c both sides of the brain are communicating together. Since Einstein's brain was almost completely connected, he could utilize both sides of his brain pretty easily...much easier than a normal person. I think lucid dreaming was something that probably came natural to Einstein. He was probably born with this ability and just furthered his potential through other scientific stuff he did. I think he was born with most of his brain already connected and simply connected it further throughout his life.

Einstein is the true definition of greatness. Imagine if someone out there manages to somehow connect both sides of their brain all the way. That would be sick.

Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin) is a lucid dreamer. He apparently wrote a great portion of his music dreaming.

      Carlos Castenada, of course.

My guess is that there are a lot of people who lucid dream naturally, but don't realize that virtually no one else is capable of it...

Wasn't the director of Fight Club a lucid dreamer?

      Pretty obvious: Leonardo DiCaprio.

Yeah, he was a lucid dreamer even before working on Inception.

Anyone have a link proving Henry David Thoreau was a lucid dreamer? I know he had a quote talking about being awake in a dream but I don't see that as proof. I would love to find out so I can show family members thanks!

Michael Raduga. I don't know how popular he REALLY is, but his name was mentioned multiple times on the forum, and he wrote a very good book on LD and OBE ( not meant as advertising though I do recommend this book as it is free)

Hmm Tesla and Einstein? Thats funny. I did a survey my freshman year asking different people about what degree of control and awareness they had in their dreams. I had known about lucid dreaming before then but didnt know about this site at the time. My results shocked me.I expected the people who would more likely be the lucid dreamers would be the smart people. The results I found the people I always thought were less intelligent some of them were big LDers and the smartest person I know said it was completely impossible. Of course we all know thats not true.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I've heard before that Albert Einstein could lucid dream.
Well technically, anyone can lucid dream.

      Also..Matt Bellamy LDs? Coooool! =D

Thats very likely, a lot of people think that Albert had aspergers and My friend Koren, who has aspergers told me he has lucid dreams every night automatically for all his life.

      ---

Rest your head now little girl
      You’re on your way now
Open your mind up to the sky
      And fly away now
      You’ve got nothing to prove
      No one to hurt you
You got no one to pull you down push you around
      Make you frown and cry
      You are alone now

Waking up every day with a beam of the moonlight in my eye
Stimulate my consciousness with the focus of my mind
I’ve got to take myself back to the feeling of eternally breaking free
Knowing that my body’s motionless and still asleep

      So fly with me
There’s a whole sky to see
I’m taking your mind with me
      Into lucidity
      Flying in unity
      Could be normality
      What you perceive to be
      Is your reality

Reality is the concrete of our minds
Our own cities where the conscious streets unwind
In the centre of your world you have your sense of gravity
Just lay your head and put your eyes at ease
Create your life and the world that you perceive
In the centre of this world you have your own imaginary planetary universe
      Fly with me…

I recall reading something about Thomas Edison being a lucid dreamer? Something about using a coin on his forehead, and when he fell asleep in his chair the coin would fall into his lap, temporarily waking him, and he would basically deild...

If that's true, that is incredible. I have two songs by him; "Fingerbib" and "Flim" (I think it's "Flim" at least)

LD + schizophrenia = not good (at least in this case).

"Famous" seems to be used very loosely. Dr. LaBerge is only known to people who research Lucid Dreams. I even have friends who practice lucid dreaming who don't even know who he is.
Why is lucid dreaming's leading researcher even worth noting anyway? Obviously, he practices lucid dreams.
