OMG, idiot poster. It will be interesting to see his response.

Reminds me of a forum I was on for only a short time, this lady said that she had heard voices in her head right before she fell asleep, and assumed that she was insane and needed to see a doctor. I told her that it's not dangerous, many people experience it (myself included) because you're in a phase between sleep and wake. Herself and the others completely ignored my reply and were kinda hysterical, and said that she needed professional help. Some admitted to having this happen to them, too. I don't know how that ended, because they deleted my account shortly after.

Wow. Some people are so ignorant its scary!
I'd hate to be the doctor they see. Trying to convince them its normal sounds like a tough job.

I wouldn't say they're stupid, they're just not open minded to think about how it could be true.

And just when I was thinking that GameFAQs was the place with the most ignorant people...

But anyway, I won't judge them, I don't know what they are capable of.

Yeah people always say something crazy or that other people are being delusional, is someone had an experience that they haven't experiencd their selves. Anyways I'd never mention any of the lucid dreaming and other Metaphysical practices to my folks they think I'm wacked up enough.

After my spiritual experiences that took place aproxx. 5 years ago I now believe that anything is possiable I'm not too quick to judge on things like this anymore and say that they're crazy or "it's some sort of camera trick" and with every succesful lucid dream and astral projection I have, I belive more and more in ghost stories.

But topics like this should be discussed amoungst like minded people.

That's so strange, I keep seeing posts on this forum of people complaining that their friends/people online think lucid dreaming is crazy and bizarre and dangerous, etc. I have talked to probably 20 people in real life about lucid dreaming and not one of them reacted that way...some had them and knew the term, others had them but hadn't known there was a word for it, and others hadn't had them but were interested, not freaked out.

Ermm, those guys on MySpace, it's pretty obvious they're messing around with Aaron, rather than being ignorant.

I don't think it's the idea of lucid dreaming so much as the presentation. Had the poster typed a paragraph, with a scientific-sounding approach, people would've responded in a more positive way. I've seen paranormal crap (mostly ghost stories and precognition) presented in a cleaner, clearer way, and it gets tons of affirming replies...

It's stupid, however, that the posters do not look behind a post. Doesn't one want to research further to fully understand before decribing their opinion?

The myspace forums... My God. Don't ever post on the myspace forums for anything. Some people are too quick to judge something- these people steer clear away from things like lucid dreaming, and accuse it of something it's not because of lack of knowledge.

These people go onto sites like myspace, where they type lik 'diz and don't know shit about anything. They try to insult people because they feel so bad about themselves- just like in real life. Forums are places where people go to have intelligent conversations with like minded people, and don't have to worry about any confrontations or insults.

Myspace- on the other hand- is fresh out of high school. All of those jocks, preps, and annoying posers go to myspace. (Meaning, insults and flame wars galore.)

I was on the music forum there are myspace once, and the topic was asking what our favorite metal bands were. I listed mine, and for each I had a small caption saying why I liked the bands. On one of them, I mentioned that it was a good band, but not popular with mainstream tastes. I was flamed by one person who said that I "failed" because a band can't be popular without the help of mainstream popularity. (Or something like that...)

We argued for about 2 posts, with me saying that he was wrong, and him saying that I was just a "retarded dumbass." I told him that I wasn't going to argue with him, and I just walked out of the thread. About a few days later, I went back, and he mentioned that I was a coward for not continuing our "fight." Lol

those people dont know what lucid dreaming is and i dont see how they would know really, i stumbled across lucid dreaming and found it interesting and i think alot of people here did. since they havn't heard about lucid dreaming i can see why people would think anything with the name lucid dreaming would be weird but people who think it means your insane are pure morons.
