      Hmm...kind've strange thing happened.

Hello all. I'm new to DV and introduced myself in the Noob sec but anyway...

I've been wondering. This happens to me a lot and have since I was small, but I don't know if this has a name or not.

It is when I'm completely awake and feel like I'm dreaming (like now and I KNOW I am awake right now as I'm typing this). It's a weird feeling and I'm sure many ppl have experienced this. And last week, I felt as if I wasn't me, like I was looking in from the outside. I chalked it up to a weird dizzy spell or something because I didn't feel like that once I stopped in my tracks. (I was walking and turned around and boom - that's when I felt that 'feeling' of not being in my body). I do have dizzy spells so that's why I'm assuming that was one...though the first time I've had one like "that". Has anyone else felt like this, is there a name for it?

And I haven't had a lucid dream in....forever. (Added that fact in there to try and stay on a semi LD topic).

Perhaps you are somehwat tired or clouded of mind. Do you go to bed and wake up around the same time every day (including weekends, give or take an hour)? Do you do any drugs? Or have insomnia?

I'm unsure if it is a cloudiness of mind or a sluggishness of body that creates this feeling of dreaming. You might want to elaborate so that others may help you further. But I'm betting that keeping your sleep schedule mildly consistent will help. Also, be sure to do reality checks in times like these. Wouldn't want you jumping out a window because it feels like a dream!

I think you should get checked out by a doc if you have frequent dizzy spells. Could be any number of physical things causing it and it might be easily curable.

Yes, I do go to bed and wake up around the same time (most of the time unless I have insomnia. I do get insomnia sometimes). I don't do or take any drugs of any kind. It could be cloudiness of the mind although I'm not completely sure what that means.

To Vex Kitten: I agree to go see a doc. I have horrible motion sickness almost EVERYTIME I'm in a car or whatever and I also get over heated quickly, dizzy and feel like I'm going to faint when I take my daily baths and showers (this doesn't happen EVERYTIME but most times). Even while washing my hair and this just started happening recently. But I've had the whole "feel like I'm dreaming" since a child.

I do reality checks in real life quite a bit...surely wouldn't want to jump out of a window.

      Thanks you guys.

My mind is ALWAYS feeling clouded, usually at school. Since I do pretty much the same stuff everyday at school I just space out and don't care about anything. I usually have the "dream" feeling at school because every night I have at least 1 dream about school. So that makes me kind of paranoid, and I keep saying " Im not dreaming Im sure, but how can I be sure?". Anyway I don't really like the feeling but I don't hate it either...
