Thread: What if you gave a DC the task of making YOU lucid?

That would sound really interesting!

I'd have to find a smart DC, though. All the ones I talk to act like...well, me, when I'm normally dreaming. "What do you mean? This is real life. It's normal for pink cows to fly and for physics to be like this."

I think that DCs are somehow part of your subconscious, no matter "who" they are - so by telling them, you might instill lucidity into your subconscious. Hell, if that works, I'll go about telling every single DC to remind me!

Sounds good. And I don't think you need a smart one; all you need is the expectation that they'll tell you. I'm gonna tell DCs to come and find me too 'cuz I don't have too many that are recurring.

I did that on one of my first lucids, the idea has floated around. It didnt work, though many LDs later a different DC told me "Dude, this a dream."

Yeah, hate to rain on your parade, but this idea pops up every once in a while. As far as I know, it hasn't worked well for anyone.

good idea and i like these kind of ideas. i think it is possible. the extent to which it's possible depends on, like everything else in this genre, how engaged and interested and open-minded you are, and how much effort you put forth into making it happen.

Sounds a bit like Talon Arana's CALD technique. I'm not sure how many LDs it's responsible for, but it's interesting none the less. The link is in my signature if anyone's interested.

Unfortunately, I haven't ever heard of people having a lot of success with this technique. I would imagine you could give yourself hypnotic suggestions through your dream characters, but I don't know how well it works in reality.

A lot of people use a Dream Guide type character to help them become lucid and then stay lucid. Or when you are WILDing you can ask for help from your Dream Guide.

Funny thread i first started lucid dreaming because a DC said to me "Am going to teach you somthing that will change your life" and then he showed me how to LD and for years he helped me untill he turned on me and since then mad stuff has being happening which has involved him and me...

nah, I tried telling a DC to help me with that and she was really rude about it. She just kept rolling her eyes and saying "yeah, yeah, whatever. Okay, I will"

she never did

But most dream characters only come up once, unless they're someone from the real world.

What if you tried to summon all your dc and give them all the task of doing it

Exactly Teelium, I have never had a recurring Dream Character except people that I know in RL who show up in my dreams.

Hey, it's worth a try! sounds like it could be fun just convincing them to do it.

You know, I've actually become Lucid a couple times because of a DC telling me I was dreaming. Very strange!

Once I had a DC come up to me and ask me if she was dreaming.

I gave her a Quote right out of Exploring The world Of Lucid Dreaming.
I said," If your seriously wondering if you could be in a dream, you probably are!

The funny thing, is that I didn't even think about the fact that if she was probably dreaming, I probably was too!
