Moving Towards Perma Lucid or Heightend Awareness?

Does anyone else think that practicing Lucid Dreaming is moving us towards a Perma Lucid state?

When people start to lucid dream, every thing is clear cut, almost binary like. You are either lucid or you aren't. But as you progress, things become muddled. You begin to use lucid techniques without thinking during normal dreams, and the difference between regular dreaming and lucid dreaming gets smaller and smaller.

It's like lucids are one end of the spectrum, and regular dream are at the other end. As you practice lucid dreaming, the difference between the two begins to shrink.

My last few lucids have started out with me thinking "Oh yea, I'm lucid", but I wasn't really lucid in the previous part of the dream. Lately in my normal dreams, I've been shooting bullets without guns, pulling weapons such as grenades out of nowhere, and exhibiting super powers at every occasion. Exactly what I'd do if I was lucid, only without the "whoa, I'm dreaming!".

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I noticed something similar when I quit lucid dreaming. I took a break for a year or two. I noticed that I retained all my dream control, despite losing the lucidity. Its like I just assumed I had superpowers/ dream control powers whenever I was dreaming. I believe I recognized the 'dream feeling' and my habits continued as they normally would if I were lucid.

That's interesting to me because I have been thinking/feeling the exact same thing lately. During the past few nights there have been times in my dream where I am pretty sure I knew I was dreaming, on some level, but it wasn't a clear-cut "This is a lucid dream" type thing.

I would just treat the dream as any lucid, in that I would fly, make things appear, etc.

      Hi,

At first, in the first couple lines, I wasn't sure what you meant, but by the end I understood fully. It's something I hadn't thought about, but I experience this as well. My last LD (prior to a mini one I had last week) was about 6 months ago, but yet frequently in my Dreams I would just know that I could perform these super-human feats.

Last night is a good example. I was with my brother (in the Dream), and I just started saying to him "Hey, yea, so, I can part these clouds and stuff, look..." and then started manipulating the sky and causing all manner of twisters and storms to appear (notice how casual I was about it lol). It's like the Dream Control has become innate, like knowing that you can breathe. Interesting...
Great ideas are born out of an open mind, not a closed one.

Yep, I had that also. But it seems to go in stages. Now (once again) I know more than ever I am lucid dreaming. But I remember having times when they seem to blur together. I am getting a blurring between LD and OBEs now. I am working on clearing them up.

Same thing here. I'll be having what would appear to be a normal dream when I suddenly think to control things or decide that consequences don't matter because I know it is a dream. Was I lucid before I had those thoughts? No idea . . . And then I might just go back to dreaming as if I weren't lucid at all.
