      Lucid dreams are leaving me...

My dreams have been awful this past month. Before, I had a lucid dream every week or so (that was actually interesting or controllable) but now, whenever I get lucid, no matter what I do it fades away within seconds. I think this might have something to do with the "forced dream control syndrome" (where too much control on your dream can be bad), but I'm not sure. I've tried everything that I could do to stabilize the dreams, but the longest I've gotten so far is about 10 seconds. =/
Anyone able to suggest something for me to do? I haven't tried spinning yet, but it never works for me anyway...

Rub your hands together. Practice this in real life, along with normal reality checks. In order to plant yourself firmly in the dream, you must know how to plant yourself in real life. Do this by focusing on all of your senses in turn.

Try some new techniques (it might be that you have gotten bored of your old techniques) and try using passive control rather then forced control as it might make your dreams more stable.

Also if you've gotten out of "the swing of things"(stopped doing RC's writing in your DJ, etc) try re-giving those things a go as it'll be sure to help.

I'm in a slump right now too. I usually remedy that by trying a new technique (WILD) and after one or two of those I'm back to lucid dreaming regularly. I would do it tonight, but I don't have time.

We all get dry spells. I like to change my sleep schedule a bit to mix things up. Or, like Ninja said, try something new that sounds like fun. It can even be something easy just for placebo, like eating something wacky during your WBTB.

If you have extra stress in your waking life, this can trash your dreams, too. Be sure you take time to relax and enjoy your waking life. Go on a fun trip, or something to mix up your daily routine.

Uh oh, is this true? I recently stopped writing down my non-LDs. It is just that they are so boring and I am so lazy. I guess I better get back on that.
