Thread: What is your stupidest missed lucid opportunity?

my stupidest missed opportunity was having my nose in sand and thinking "wow this is exactly like a dream"

Last night. =[
I dreamed that there was this place in Florida that you could go there, and do anything, like a lucid dream. You could change the landscape, fly, and make things happen. In my dream, when I described it to a friend, I was like, "It's almost like lucid dreaming, except real!"
I had so many strange dreams last night, and a TON of things could've been indicators. Like magic brownies that gave you the abilities to do anything you want.

lol i had a dream where i was in my school gymnasuim (not even the same gym) and my math teacher told us that the sun was coming close to the earth and it would get very hot. so i went to a bus to grab my geometry kit, and then after, i asked him if this blazing heat was permanent, and he said yes.

i was not lucid lmfao

I have yet to have a lucid dream, but I am giving it my best (I am very new at this). Last night I was dreaming I was talking to a girl about lucid dreaming. She was drunk, yet she had lucid dreams all the time. I wondered how she could have them without trying while I was putting in such effort. I was telling her how interested I am in lucid dreaming, and how I am trying to acheive one.

i was once in a dream and i was being talked to by 3 green fish that could stand up on there own and i STILL didnt know i was dreaming i got really angry kuz i hvnt had a lucid dream yet and that seemed like a good opportunity.

I looked at my hand as a reality check and counted seven fingers on it. I knew this wasn't right and I got mad at my hand and my counting ability, trying to count it over and over again to make it five fingers, but it would still count up to seven. It really infuriated me. Then I had a false awakening where I realized my stupidity.

Don't worry, though, it worked out later in the same dream and I got lucid.

haha. I had a dream that we were in a classroom learning math, but we were watching a movie about a monkey not being able to pee... lol???

i couldn't believe i didn't realize that it was a dream when i woke up.

I'm gonna count this as a missed opportunity:

I was swimming in a pool, and then I realized that I was breathing underwater. I said, "I'm dreaming!" So I got out of the pool and I told the people that were next to the pool that I was dreaming and they were like, "Yeah, that's not cool." So I forgot I was dreaming.

I dreamed I was on holiday on a sunny beach and did not realise I was dreaming during the dream. When I woke up I was a little irked to say the least, it was snowing outside!

ARggh just this night !

I had 3 toes on my foot, and so did someone else beside me.

I then counted them with my fingers and then I had 24 toes!!

Suddendly there were ham wrapped around my toes! So they could heal my toes back to normal or something!

in my childhood I had a dream where a rude DC showed up at my house and started criticizing me with profanities. I asked him if this was a dream and he said "no, what are you -nuts?!"

I was walking down the street and started floating and thought to myself "see! I KNEW I could fly in real life and not just dreams!"

I dreamt that I was someone else who went to sleep became lucid by looking into the mirror and that someone else saw not himself so he became lucid.

I had a dream last night where I saw my brother had a guide to HILD.
I said "is that honey induced lucid dreaming". He said yes.
I said "cool. I try WILD and MILD".
Then I wandered aimlessly and non lucidly into my dream.

I've had many stupid missed opportunities. Once I looked at a digital clock that said it was 4:00 AM, but it was light outside. I just thought "Stupid Daylight Saving Time" or something and didn't even bother to check the clock again. Another time, I looked in a mirror and saw that my hair was red and curly (it's brown and straight in real life), and I just thought, "Hmm, wonder when I did that." Once I was in space, once there were vampires, once there were aliens. I'm quite frequently pretty mad at myself for not thinking to do a reality test.

Last night I had a dream in which I was playing a video. I went to the main menu and started looking through stuff. Under one of the options there was a sentence that said something like "Weird things and impossible often happen in the dreams."

Upon reading that I remember thinking. "Oh dude, that's weird. I wish things like that would show up in my dreams instead of real life. Then I'd realize I'm dreaming. It'd make becoming lucid so much easier!" Apparently not. I failed to become lucid.

I was running away from a teenage killer and I stopped to catch my breath. It was really dark outside and raining hard. I remember pinching my self and saying to myself to wake up because this was a dream. PFfft I soon forgot that it was a dream.

Hmm, how about sitting on a toilet in my closet while lots of people enter my loft over the balcony. If that shouldn't have made me lucid, what else!?

I once relized I was dreaming while I was closing my dream eyes, but I was afraid to open them because it felt like if I opened my dream eyes my real eyes would open too. I fell asleep in my dream waiting for the waking world feeling feeling to disipate. For lack of a better word, it sucked.

Lol, yesterday, me and my schoolfriends were flying around in a dream of mine (night time city scene) and i said "Wow, this feels better than flying in lucid dreams"

Two dreams that spring to my mind are one where I'm walking along with an old friend of mine whom I've known from school days, and whilst we're talking to each other side by side his head suddenly changes into a horses head and I carry on talking to him regardless!

The other time I've had a dream where I'm in some random person's back garden and two cats run over to me. I say to the first cat " Hello little cat, how are you? " the cat replies "I'm fine, how are you?" Doh!!

Not taken aback by this apart from being amazed that cats can talk I then ask the cat another question, I say " So how come the other cat doesn't talk?" he replies " Oh, thats cos he's not that clever, I'm the clever one out of the two of us!"

I shouted "Enhance Lucidity" while pretending to be lucid in my dream. Then I explained to my friend that if he just believed in himself a little more, he'd be able to control his dreams.
