      Question concerning sleep talk?

Has anyone ever heard anything about purposely sleep talking in real life while Lucid Dreaming? Is it possible?

Hm. Considering you're pretty much paralyzed during REM (vivid dreaming), I'd say that's a no. There was a study to see if facial expressions would translate to the waking world, but thusfar it has not produced results.

Currently, lucid dreaming research institutes use eye signals to communicate (to the outside world) while dreaming.

So, are you saying normal sleep talk is outside of REM sleep? I don't believe that is true. Therefore body paralysis wouldn't be a sufficient solution as to why this isn't possible, right?. Or maybe it is. Of course if you can't show facial expression then I would imagine sleep talk would be even harder to perform than that. Just a thought.

If you were in an NREM dream you could probably pull it off. I'm not really certain what causes sleep talking, but my guess is that if you were a frequent sleep talker who learned to LD you may be able to, but that much focus on your real body may just wake you up.

he's not asking if you can do it consciously. he's asking if it could happen on accident. i think. or, I hope so anyways.

Nope, I think he means consciously. Possibly to tell others (or a machine) what is happening. That way, you cannot forget any of the dream.
      Bollocks.

Yeah, I was talking about consciously sleep talking. I was thinking along the lines of maybe just saying key words or phrases that would remind me of certain events in a dream. Maybe laying a sound recording device by the bedside. I wasn't planning on attempting it, I just thought on it for a few moments. I love to take some time out of the day to just sit around and think. Thinking is a vastly underrated pastime, and thoughts are far too often taken for granted.

I get as far as trying to talk while asleep... From other peoples accounts i am trying to talk with my mouth closed.

Do some research on Edgar Casey.

I don't know how, but once I was simultaneously running around and around a track during HI, and carrying on a conversation with someone in the real world. It was really weird.

I love DEILD! SP is pwnage!

OMG. In one of my dreams, like, a month ago, I saw myself in third person sleeping while I sorta saw what I was dreaming that I was dreaming about. I sang something stupid, and swore that I said it aloud. In my dream. But this was only part of the dream. Before I was in the dream that I was dreaming, I was in the dream that I was dreaming, but just plain dreaming. I know, hard to follow. Well it's hard to explain.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.
