Conversation broke out with the topic on dreams in my computer class at school. One class-mate said that he knew about and had some trouble with it. I think it started out with a girl who was, I think, writing in her dream journal during class. We talked about it for a while and yeah.. it was a good time.

That's interesting, I wish most classmates were more open to the subject!

People I know get akward when people talk about stuff they don't know about.
I've told some people, but I don't think I'd do it anymore.

I wish I knew someone who would talk to me about it IRL life though, I figure it would motivate me more.

I told my girlfriend about it. She thought it was so interesting that she actually started to attempt LD's as well, which helps motivate me, plus it's someone who I can share my LD experiences with.

i think it would be just to weird to tell other people that you conjure up objects while your dreaming (and then they'd take you to the therapist, who'd put you on medicine )

      Lol @ "my therapist" option

I only tell close friends. There are few people I feel comfortable discussing lucid dreams with, and I only share my experiences with people who are open-minded enough to appreciate it or those who I know won't ridicule it.

      I tell everyone I can.

I've never really gotten weird looks from anyone, but perhaps one day I will, haha.

most of my class know i lucid dream they all love the idea and it seems everyone has had a LD once, its great because everyone wants to tell me there favorite dream. its kinda funny, dreaming is something most people dont talk about and I notice people really open up if given the chance. it started when my West Civ. my teacher (im sure a old stoner) started talking about a differant reality and went into tribal men with that catus drug, he saw me staring at him because we'd talked about lucid dreaming before between me and him and he said "Mr. Dugan knows exactly what im talking about" i had the whole floor for 10 min. that class talking about flying, being able to play god. the mindset of it all, lol everyone was begging me to tell them how to do it. -that was really hard to do, ya know explain how to lucid dream in a minute. couldnt tell um much gave them the basic WILD. now anyway I hear lucid dreaming come up in the locker room and such, its great because everyone tends to turns to me and say "oh yea you know all about that stuff right?" few guys tell a cool dream they had. anyway its a great topic if you can cram how awesome it is in a few sentences before people lose interest. i had the whole floor of the class to help start the knowledge of it at my school

I tell friends and family when the subject of dreaming comes up, mainly when they're relaying to me one of their particularly weird dreams. That's when I go "You know, I had this one lucid dream...", and if they ask what a lucid dream is, then peachy. If they're not interested, I move on with my life and don't dwell on it...something that a few people on this forum need to learn how to do, hint, hint. Different strokes for different folks, I always say; why should I look scathingly at people who aren't interested in LDing when they do me the mutual favor of not looking at me scathingly for not being interested in...say, American Idol, or some thing to that effect?

I haven't talked to anyone as of now, but I do plan on reporting my progress to my uncle since he is the one who instructed me. I also have a great uncle that is a shaman that I see once every 5 years or so. When I see him, I will surely bring it up.

I tell a couple of my friends my dreams if theyre interesting, but I usually don't go too far into detail about lucids. Whenever I've tried describing lucids people seem to get lost in the terminology or I can't get the right words. I think for the most part the person has to be genuinely interested to understand. Otherwise you might just sound crazy xD

I've told a lot of my friends about it, but most people think it's crazy and can't really understand it. A lot of them smoke a LOT of weed, and don't remember any of their dreams, which is kind of sad.

But there are a few who I've talked t about it and they already knew about it. I don't think anyone except this girl I knew in high school has ever actually had a lucid dream though. Most of them watched Waking Life or something and got really interested, went and did a bunch of research, but never really put in the actual effort. I still think you basically have to keep a dream journal if you seriously want to have LDs. Maybe not if your a natural or have been interested in dreams your whole life, but most people spend absolutley none of their day thinking about dreaming, and if you don't you aren't gonna think about it when your asleep.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I generally keep it a secret. I have told people I have had lucid dreams in the past, but I don't tell people I actively try for lucid dreams.

It's not that I wouldn't tell them but it's something which has never really come up in conversation with family or friends.

What would be cool is if someone at school started a dream club. I mean they got clubs that seems... not as interesting as dreams I mean who wants to talk about recycling right?

I do that on my own time but if there was some other people in real life that are interested in dreams, they should be interested in lucid dreams even more so. I started college not that long ago but I highly doubt we have a dream club but I could always check. Why not just go do that after I get off the computer I mean I'm typing from school right now.

I find it interesting that societies like these don't exist... or if they do somewhat secretly. which is a pity because I would find that interesting.

on the other hand I probably would want to share my LD experiences to real-life that I don't know people because most people have childish judgemental attitudes. Beyond that any such society will probably get flooded with wackos with highly dubious theological/pseudoscience beliefs regarding dreams.

i made the mistake of telling some people who were a lot more closed-minded then I expected them to be, and now I either never talk about it or am very very careful about who I tell. Luckily my best friend thought it was awesome and tries to lucid dream all the time now, so it was nice that she was really open minded and cool about it. However, it doesn't happen that often for some reason, so I keep it on the down-low.

I've told my mom at Mcdonalds one night. And we got into this discussion about it and she said she had lucid dreams before, but, she would rather have normal dreams and have that feeling of surprise or fear.

I'm so interested in the topic and I'm so anxious to have one that I WANT to tell everyone, but I don't. Well, I tell some people. Most of the time they seem uninterested or I just get the feeling they don't fully understand the concept. That's why I don't tell anybody about it anymore. The thing is, I'm so into the whole idea of it, I'm shocked when other people aren't. How could you NOT be into this?

I have often wondered this and from what I can find by carefully asking family members who don't seem to be interested ( that is all of them ) and a couple of trusted friends it has become obvious to me that most people do not take any interest in dreams because either, they our two proud to explore something that doesn't literally exist. or more commonly, they have never had vivid dream recall or any dream recall ever.

you'll be stunned just how many people can become middle-aged without being able to recall a single dream. In which case it's no wonder.
