      Should we RC when daydreaming?

I've been wondering about where the brain gets its most input, and while I know that dreams must be made in the same style as daydreams - our mind wandering endlessly -, should I reality check whenever I daydream? It is such a non-vivid type of dream, a daydream, just glimpses of images your mind put together and you sit on the bus or whatever.

I think, like all things, the answer to this is 'sure, it is bound to help.' I guess I'm just very curious about the inner workings of the mind, where dreams get their material from...etc. Any thoughts?

I suppose it makes sense to do a reality check. However, to do the reality check you will have to break out of the day dream which sort of defeats the purpose. =/

Unless your daydream is extremely vivid, and you can imagine some text, look away, and look back at that text.

I try to abstain from daydreaming since it makes you less conscious of things around you

I think that is when you need to reality check the most. Whenever you catch yourself daydreaming or heavily involved in a distracting activity, like a movie or video game.

I've been thinking all this a lot lately and I agree with everything you both say. However I also agree strongly with yuriy that you need to focus on being more aware as much as you can.

Do what I do--daydream ABOUT lucid dreaming. In other words, be lucid in your daydreams. It helps to be aware and thinking about dreaming as much as possible!
