Question about my subconscious

I started trying to gain lucidity less than a week ago. I've seen various tutorials on DILDs and WILDs and everything I have read tells me to work on recall for 1-2 months, practice RCing for a few months etc. The little voice in my head tells me to try a WILD. I tell it that I'm not ready. Should I listen to it? Obviously my subconscious is important in dreaming, what should I do?

I tried it once before going to sleep, and one when i woke up, but I don't want to wake up at 3am and waste an hour of sleep if theres a good chance I won't even remember the LD if I have one

Yeah, WILDs interfere with all the other stuff I have to do, so I MILD, instead. It's all about finding a method that's right for you. If you have an hour or two in the middle of the day, you could try for a WILD nap.
