By "forever," I assume you mean all of eternity, and the physical world has no bearing on this, rather than merely until we die. If this is indeed the case, I would say "yes." Even if I got completely bored with my lucids, I could still go about daily life as I left it, and vamp it up every now and then, just for fun. The key would be to not overdo it, or burn out. If you go straight for perpetual pleasure, it'll become more and more boring, until you're bored to the bejesus. No, the key is to mix in some bad times along with the good. You can summon a dragon every once in a while and wreak some havoc, but you might want to save something like that for special occasions, such as Christmas, your birthday, etc.

The idea that at the end of my life, I'll just drift off into an eternal lucid isn't a bad one. However, if I had the chance to start right now, I'd say no.

      Hell no!

Vaguely based off a quote that may be associated with Woody Allen. I don't remember.

No. But if I was forced into it, I'd spend the entire time looking for other consciousnesses besides my own.

I suggest you watch Vanilla Sky if you haven't already, it's exactly about bulding a life on a lucid dream.

Don't know... if I'm given the choice while dying/after death, then yes, otherwise, I like both realities too much.

no for ever is just too long, no matter how fun.
I also would like to live my normal life. Part of which makes lucid dreaming so great, is like you said real world inspiration.

If you ever saw Vanilla Sky, Tom Cruise had to chose whether he wanted to keep having his Lucid dream, or wake up to a normal life. He chose to live life and not dream any more.

And you just spoiled the ending for him, lol just kidding.
But yeah, I would of chosen to keep lucid dreaming if I was in his position.

I reckon it would get really lonely after you actually realize that every single one of your friends, family, etc is really controlled by your own imagination.

if given a chance between living out the rest of my life "normally" or having an immortal life in a lucid dream I'd choose the second option in an instant

I would say no. I would just get bored eventually. As everyone i know in this forever lucid state i couldnt completley connect with as they are imaginations i have created. Besides i like the unpredictability of life itself. Also i like the fact that LD is a higher state of awareness which (for me) doesnt come around to often, and it always makes me happy when it does.

For me it doesn't matter if I'm lucid or not, eventually I'd become lucid and maybe that would come abd go, but I'd be happy just dreaming. In short: Yes, I would dream forever. Also, I'll have to see this Vanilla Sky.

I've never heard of it before. I found lucid dreaming in a rather roundabout fashion. I was watching Mythbusters, and they were trying out hypnosis, so I thought I would try it out on my sister just for fun, so I logged on and tried to look up ways to hypnotize people, but that didn't turn up anything, which eventually led to something or other about lucid dreaming, which sparked a memory in my subconscious about this show that I saw about that, which made me remember how awesome it sounded, which led me to further research, which ultimately led me here. Fwew!
