      Napping & Lucid Dreaming

Hey all..I was just wondering if anyone naps on a regular basis and has noticed it helping thier dream recall and # of LD's. I remember reading somewhere a while back that "as humans, are bodies are designed to sleep 2 times within 1 day to acheive peak performance" or something like that.

I've seriously been considering fitting everyday naps into my schedule and staying up later to help with LDing. If this has worked for anyone, please share your experience with the technique. Thanks!

Napping is good for having LD's. REM continues for quite awhile after waking up, so if you nap somewhat early in the day it would be a bit like doing a WBTB. I don't have any personal experience with napping for LDing, but I've heard that it works.

Many have reported that their best LDs were during naps. I find this to be semi true, but I don't take naps often, so I can't give any exact advice based on my experiences.

Yeah naps rule. Around the half of my WILDs where during naps, works much better for me than in the night. the best works for me napping about 20 minutes, waking up and then napping again for about 20 mins. I can easily wild like that.

      cheers

I recommend napping for either 20 minutes (as this decreases the total amount of NREM sleep when you go to bed for the night, as in, you will dream faster), or for 90 minutes.

The latter option is even more preferable, and necessary if your goal is to WILD/DILD during your nap. I haven't had a lot of lucid dreams from naps, but that's probably because I don't nap often. But when I do manage a WILD, I end up with a lucid dream of god-tier quality.

You know, I was just thinking about napping today because I didn't LD last night like I'd hoped to. I woke up and fell back asleep multiple times this morning, without result. I think I'll try napping today and I'll test the validity of this thread's apparent conclusion for myself.

Thanks, MottusTa for asking a question I didn't think to ask!

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
