      LD classes at school.

Who here thinks that they should have LD classes and/or clubs at school. That would be pretty cool. LDing could be very informative about sleep and REM and could give kids something that is actually cool to learn about. It would inform people what LDing actually is, so people don't frown upon it and think it's wierd.

OMG, this would be so cool! But, in all honesty, how many people would join it? Others would think it's SO WEIRD. Some may be ok with others thinking this, but other potential members may not like it. But, something involving LD's in this way is definitly in order.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Well LDing could be very educational and should be included in our schools.

I just filled out all the forms necessary to create the "Oneirology Club" at my school, large portion of which will be devoted to LD-ing, no we wait for the faculty to approve it (they are elgally obligated to)

      So start it

Most people have had a lucid dream. It just matters on how you present it.

I have mixed opinions on this subject... anyway...

It's the same with art, you cannot simply teach someone lucid dreaming, they must find what suits themselves. just like how art has many different art forms and techniques, so does lucid dreaming. I suppose you can teach students how to RC and WILD, but it's up to the individual to find their own technique, and become a proficient lucid dreamer.

I was always confused about the concept of art class, I mean they can give us paint and canvasses, but after that, there is nothing they can do...

I was considering running a class on this (students have the ability to run classes at my school, I dunno about yours) or at least requesting a class on the subject. I'm not very good speaking in front of large groups though. :X

Yea, students can create any club they want as long as they the signatures of at least 15 interested students, which I did. Along with some basic information.

I think it's a great idea! Don't think we'll ever see it discussed though in mainstream educational courses though :/

I believe the main cause of this would be religion.

Religion controls ALL. If this class appeared in school...kids would tell their parents...parents would think its the devils work...parents contact schoolboard...schoolboard would shut it down.

      It's truely a shame though...I would join

If somebody does start a lucid dreaming club or class, i think it would be important to have an offered discussion before the class was actually started. Making sure to advertise your club as something scientific rather than spiritual or mystical. If you're trying to get the word out about the club, i think you should get rid of any mystical or crazy misconceptions about from the start. That way you could possibly gain more members and more specifically, have a better chance of avoiding the scenario that Jeff is talking about.
LD Goals: [] Have a successful VILD [] Take crazy, hallucinogenic, euphoric drug [] Fly through multi-colored ice cavern while "Surfing with the Alien" by Joe Satriani plays [] Fight a hollow, while using Zangetsu
