I think there needs to be some kind of educational metaphysical awareness going on in association with dreams for sure.
Although, it would have to be a very experienced instructor. Psychology classes are great, but they are so broken down into differing viewpoints over time, that your approach to dreams might be affected by whatever branch of Psychology picks up your interest. Although it's a great place to learn about the mind, consciousness etc and what makes it tick.
For example, I personally think Frued was pretty awesome at describing how our subconscious affects our conscious behavior, but his dream interpretation was abyssmal, mostly because it was based on his own experiences and viewpoints and these were all classified and labeled according to his practice. Don't get me into Jung on this one.
I don't know about you, but having someone else interpret my dreams, telling me that a car is a phalic symbol when it might just be a backround detail for some other message, (the steering wheel, the dashboard, the headlights, differant submodalities that might mean something else). I think I've learned more with self exploration and being open minded then a class could ever teach, but then I'm skeptical too.
