I think I started dreaming at school. Also DJ troubles.

I was bored in science because we wern't doing any work and I have hardly any friends so I put my head on the desk and closed my eyes. Everyone was talking really loudly. I was just thinking about things, I cant remember what though. I got so into it I couldnt hear everyone else talking or anything. Usually if I try to wild all I can think about is trying to keep my eyes still but I didnt this time, but I think that partly because I wasnt paticularly trying to wild, just being bored. Whilst thinking about whatever it was, I suddenly saw a picture of a forest. For some reason I had it in my mind that if I looked right then little red riding hoods grandmas house was there haha. But when that picture came into my head I jumped awake, then my eyes moved, then I swallowed hard and it was gone.
I dont think it was wild because I didnt have SP, but I didnt try to move so I dont know lol.

Does anyone know if I close to wilding?

Also, I used to keep a dream journal but every time I went to write in it on a morning I would fall asleep while writing or just write something stupid without realising it because I was dropping off but I need to write it in a morning otherwise I forget it. Usually I just remember little bits of my dream, then turn the tv on to keep my self awake and forget the dream completely.
Any suggestions?? Or can you post your DJing routine??

Sorry if there are alreaddy posts about these things, I just thought I would ask

Sounds sort of like HH to me...I've had similar things happen to me, but I'm not sure if it's SP or what...

As for your dream journal, I really recommend building it up again. Recall is the first step toward lucidity, even with WILD's. Here's my DJ routine: the alarm goes off, and as it is located on the other side of the room, I get up to go and turn it off. I then return to bed and try not to fall alseep again. While doing this, I hold perfectly still and try to get back the fragments of my dreams. If I fail to get any solid dreams, I'll go and take a shower and do a bit of pondering. Sometimes, dreams will come flooding back. Once in a great while, a random dream will come flying back in the middle of the day. I record every little thing I remember as best I can. I use Banhurt's DJ program to record my dreams with.

I think so. In my opinion, not every minds are alike. I think is not necessary to have a SP when you're WILDing, sometimes I have fallen asleep so quickly that I couldn't realise if I had SP or not.

Sorry if there are alreaddy posts about these things, I just thought I would as

When you wake up, take your DJ or any notebook, take a breakfast trying to recall your dreams, don't think anymore! And after that, write your dream. Is like the advice of Mario92 but changing the shower instead of a breakfast because... honestly, England is too cold for a morning shower haha.

I think it'd be highly unlikely that your body allows you to fall genuinely asleep (for a full cycle!) in class. Especially if it wasn't your first class, but you didn't specify. This was most likely a bit of hypnogogia.

You need to wake yourself up a bit more to write more. When you wake up, remember some of your dream, and then stand up (or get water, or turn on a light. . . Whatever works best for you.) and write down the rest.

Really? I'm very happy for you. Writing a DJ could be a hard, but in the end, it deserves the worth. Only you may be used at the beginning, and for that there are some tricks hehe
      Your welcome.

      @Abra
I don't know why you say a person can't sleep during a school class, I myself have fallen asleep many times in class, don't underestimate the oratory of some teachers haha No, now seriously, a fully and pleasant dream is improbable but there're so many ways to fall asleep

I have fell asleep properly at school at least once before definatly before, somehow it was in P.E haha!
I cant remember what time of the day it was sorry, I never even thought about it to be honest.
I had another similar thing happen yesterday or the day before. I was trying to sleep and had my eyes closed for ages. I randomly got a picture/dream type thing where someone wearing a red england shirt slipped over and at the same time that happened, my went forward as if it was me that had slipped, even though I was sat down if that makes sense. This is quite cool Im going to try again next time we arnt doing anything useful

Well, of course you can fall asleep in class. But probably not for an entire sleep cycle. Unless your body was multiple-day completely sleep deprived, why would your body allow itself to be paralyzed in that sort of situation?

In P.E. I was daydreaming or I spent all day sleeping, depending on how you look, but, indeed, it was a very oneiric age, or awkward haha
Your dream sounds like a dizzy experience, no? I hope you could repeat it, but be careful not to slip really go, ok? haha

      @Abra
Yes, ok, probably you don't sleep an entire sleep cycle, of course. But is your body paralyzed just when you have an entire sleep cylce? I don't think so, I think I've suffered more SP's taking a nap at the afternoon that sleeping at night. Why would my body allow itself to be paralyzed in that sort of situation? I don't know, I've insomnia and I've spent 54 hours awake, why did my body allow that? Bodys are sometimes quite motherfuckers. I mean I don't see the relationship between the "entire sleep cycle" at night and the "small sleep" at day as a reason to have SP's

If you dont want to write your dream down as soon as you wake up, then heres what I usually do...

Just think through the dream as well as you can remember it. Tell it to somebody... I mean, not out loud, and not to anybody really, but rehearse it as if you're telling it to a friend. Subvocally, ya know?

This will fix the details in your mind and later in the day when youre awake enough to write you should be able to remember it. It works for me anyway.

As for dream journaling, I stay still in bed for a few minutes and play the dream over in my head backwards. I say backwards becasue I usually find it easier to try to remember everything from where the dream ended rather than from when it began. When I'm sure the dream's been commited to memory, that's when I get up.

Oh yes, that was probably what it was, thank you

Sometimes I just find it hard to remember the dream. I wake up and know that I have had a dream but I just cant remember it. Its like when you know a word and say that it is on the tip of your tounge, except its a dream and it is on the tip of my mind
That made sense to me but probably wont to you

Oh no, I know EXACTLY what you mean. That's happened to me so many times. Last Thursday I know a had a freaking awesome dream, but 5 minutes after I got up for school I couldn't remember any of it.

I've had this happen on occasion. I think the terminology is a micro-nap. Basically sleeping for only a few seconds at a time. I've had HH and micro-naps before, and there is definitely a distinction. I can hold HH for a long time, but if it turns into a micro-nap, I usually have a hypnic jerk. Those are awkward most of the time.

I just hope memory serves here. I can definitely remember seeing these terms.

Yeah, I see stuff too when I'm about to fall asleep like I think you were. At least someone didn't come down in a banana type thing from the ceiling, smile at you, then ascend back into the ceiling >.>

And as for my DJing routine. Well, before I got good at it, I'd wake up and not open my eyes, I'd lay there for a good ten minutes, trying to piece together scenes from the dream, the dialogue that was said, at which point did each thing take place etc. I'd get it solid in my mind, keep repeating it over and over again before even moving. Because even just moving would dull the memory a bit. When I thought I got it strong enough, I'd get up and go write it down quickly.

Now, I can remember entire dreams immediately near flawlessly, even with moving, getting up to get something to drink etc. I write down every dream still too. At least, every one I liked.

On a school day I cant lie with my eyes closed to remember it because I fall straight back to sleep. But on a weekend when I wake up naturally I can lie and not fall asleep and thats usually when I get the best dreams Unless its just when I remember the best dreams.

Ive wrote a few dreams in my DJ but they arn't that full because I forget most of the detail but I have a good feeling that it will get better

I keep a dream journal but i'm way too tired to write my dreams down properly in the morning XD what I do is I put a pen on a mini note pad next to my bed, already open on the page so i don't even have to open it in the morning XD anyway i just write down a couple of words that will help trigger my memory later, for example if you had a dream that you were riding an elephant to school but couldn't get there cos of building works i'd put
      elephant- me riding
      on road
      roadworks- couldn't get past
honestly it saves so much time and when you do have time read the words and write a detailed entry about the dream in your proper diary, it makes it so much easier and you do remember (just don't leave copying it up till weeks later cos then it's like what the hell? what's with the random words??) XD

and you fell asleep in P.E ?? ahahah how? what were you doing?? XD

I used to do this It worked at first but then I got lazy and stopped writing them up properly and ended up with about 10 to write up at once, thats when I stopped DJing. Hopefully if I keep doing it the way that I am doing it my recall will get better and I will be able to write them later in the day with out taking notes

haha, everyone was sitting on the floor talking and Miss wouldn't start the lesson till everyone shut up. I had no one to talk to and was bored so I just lay down and went to sleep XD Then woke up to someone shouting my name and everyone laughing haha. The best thing was, everyone except me got wrong for talking and I got praised for being quiet

The unfortunate thing is that im not a very patient person (: I wish my recall was better since I had a LD last night and I cant remember as much of it as I would like to.. but eventually I will remember everything and LD a lot more often.. hopefully

You're a quite pessimistic no? haha. Don't worry about it, every night you have the oportunity of develop your dream recall abilities, that's 356 oportunities at year. Think this is like football, imagine you play 365 matches at year, probably you would become in the best football player, compared with you, Ronaldo would be a joke. ehm....well, I digress a little from the topic. :S
What I mean is do not worry, day by day it's easier to remember your dreams, and less cumbersome....

Yeah, recall gets way better with practice. Keep trying, you'll master it eventually. You could try recording your dreams by way of voice on something too. My digital camera doubles as a voice recorder among other things, and if I woke up in the middle of the night, I'd record what dreams I remembered into it, then go back to sleep.

Of course, when I woke back up in the morning and played it back and heard "Zombies.... *mumble* bathtub.... *mumble* *loud breathing into mic for a minute* and then I *mumble mumble* *voice recording ends*" I'd be like "what the hell?" o.0

Yeah, dreamdreamdream, that's how I put down all the dreams I had in my original dream journal before I lost it, down into my new one.

"haha, everyone was sitting on the floor talking and Miss wouldn't start the lesson till everyone shut up. I had no one to talk to and was bored so I just lay down and went to sleep XD Then woke up to someone shouting my name and everyone laughing haha. The best thing was, everyone except me got wrong for talking and I got praised for being quiet"

      lol, xD
