      WILD vs DILD

For me, I notice my WILD's are really different than DILD's.

In WILD's there is less clarity, and my senses are weaker in general. Sometimes I am even aware of my physical body, but I don't wake up. I have greater control, and can induce them at will.

My DILD's are much more vivid, but I have less control, and I can't induce them at will, like WILD's.

Once, I was able to increase clarity by falling asleep in a dream. That was crazy!

Anyone else have this experience. I have tried many times to increase clarity in WILD's but have kind of given up.

I've never had a WILD before so I don't know, sorry. But shouting 'increase clarity' never works for me, either. I put on glasses. If you can't find glasses try making some.

I find for me the best way to increase clarity is rubbing my hands together, and making sure my mind emulates the feeling of my hands together. It makes things appear more vivid but also makes the lucid feel much more real.

Also I tried out the FILD technique this morning, and I have to say it's pretty sweet. It's a lot easier than a WILD (never actually achieved one) but easier to come by than a DILD. Unfortunately I always seem to think "Yay I'm lucid, oh crap I hope I don't wake up..." que waking up...frustrating.

Yeah, that's a great idea! I read that you did that, but I forgot. Oh, Coraline, I saw that in 3D! I should put on 3D glasses! Yes!

Thanks for the reply. Rubbing my hands together never did anything for me. Running through something infinite does, though. It makes it feel more real, but doesn't make anything more vivid.

My WILDs are often times less vivid than DILDs, but my top 5 most vivid dreams were all WILDs. It seems like when you actually get some good clarity and vividness in a WILD it is absolutely incredible. 3 of these 5 were in day time naps. The other two were WBTBs. My DEILDs are usually pretty vivid as well.

Okay. The past couple nights, I have been trying to increase my vividness in WILD's by falling asleep slower. I often will start dreaming as soon as I close my eyes, but I experience physical awareness of my body, which is annoying.

My dream sharing has been less synchronous, but I shared dreams with three people!

My DILD's have increased because of this also. I still have less control. I am trying to go from an AP into a LD, if that's possible.

This is a "beyond dreaming" topic clearly.

Please don't try and sneak it into the main forum.

I've WILDed once and it was just as vivid as a normal DILD, but I seemed to have a little bit more control in my WILD but that might just be coincidence.

Don't get your knickers in a twist, he only briefly mentioned it. You Beyond dreaming Nazi.

      Back OT:

For me there is no real difference between DILD and WILD in terms of clarity and control.
The only thing I can think of is that my DILD usually start less stable than my WILD.

I noticed that same thing, with dilds being more vivid, I have more control then wild.
The thing about Dild's is you vjust have to hope that they come, which isn't very likely for me. If you suceed at wild, you get your lucid dream immediately afterward.

I haven't succesfully WILDed yet, but I have once WILDed in a dream (non lucid), resulting in an extremely vivid and detailed DILD.

Well, I prefer WILD. I know, I haven't had a LD yet, but here are my reasons.

      Pros.

      • Can make them happen at will
      • You get to experience SP (is fun for me)
      • Doesn't require reality checking so often

      Cons.

      • Have to wake up during the night
      • Harder to achieve (I think)
      • Takes a lot of practice

Nazi?!? Now thats clearly not a histrionic over the top accusation is it.

Now OT: I find my wilds vary. Sometimes they are crystal clear. My best and longest lucids have been wilds.
Sometimes they are a bit fuzzy and don't last very long.

I think it just depends on how deep you manage to go under when you WILD.

I find it interesting that everyone here says their WILDs are less vivid than DILDs. For me, my WILDs (as few of them as there have been) are always far more detailed and vivid than DILDs. Even in my clearest DILDs, there have been some things that just don't feel real. In every WILD I've had, however, it's all so amazingly realistic that when I look for differences between the dream and real life, I can't find any. I've even seen patterns in people's skin when I look up close in WILDs, whereas things are more basic than that in my DILDs.
