Asked for my dream guide and got some weird answers...?

I've been really thinking lately about the idea of a dream guide. Whether they're separate beings or just more intelligent DCs (that's pretty much what I think), I think the idea of one sounds cool so I'm trying to find mine.

I haven't seriously considered finding mine until yesterday. I had a lucid dream back in January where I tried asking for my dream guide, though, to see what would happen.

In the dream, I woke up in my bed (lucid) and walked into the room next door. I found a grown man and a boy, who looked about 14-16 years old, sitting on the couch and petting some kind of dog. I think it was a pug, but I'm not sure.

I started talking to the boy, and throughout the conversation I had to rub my hands together to keep the dream stable. I explained this to him, and he understood. He seemed to me like a more intelligent DC because he "understood" in the sense that he new it was my dream and exactly why I was rubbing my hands together. My dream characters either don't know what I'm talking about or don't believe me when I mention it's a dream. Unfortunately, I don't remember most of our conversation, but he wasn't giving me entirely odd answers.

At one point, I asked him, "Can you help me find my dream guide?" to which he answered, "I actually have a letter from your dream guide." He handed me a folded piece of loose leaf paper. I opened it and written in pencil were words that were written in very weird handwriting but legible. Most of the words weren't even real words, though, and many of the letters were written more than once. I tried looking for some kind of logical sentence and all I remember finding was "I am a beagle."

I asked, "My dream guide is a beagle?" He nodded. I then said "I thought it was a lion this entire time" (which was true). He smiled and said "yeah..." I was confused, but I didn't bother to ask what he meant.

So I asked him for his name. He rubbed the back of his neck, as if embarrassed. He said "Juat."
I tried to confirm, "Juat?", but he shook his head no. I kept asking for a name, but he'd keep giving me false names. Finally, he said "O... Olive."
      "Your name is Olive?"
He nodded. I asked him, "Okay. Do you think you could do me a favor?"
      "Yeah?"
"Can you remind me in my next dream that I'm dreaming?"
      "Sure."

The dream then faded and I woke up. I never saw him again after that.

Do you think I should I accept ANY of this information as true? He seemed sane at first, but the name-guessing really made me wonder 0.o Also, he never came to remind me I was dreaming in later dreams. But I was incredibly lucid in that dream and I felt a sort of "friendship" with him.

JUST RECENTLY, actually, I had a non-lucid dream involving a lion who supposedly was there to protect me from harm, only to ignore my crying for help while I was attacked by dogs.

      I don't know... any thoughts?

Hmm... in my experience, mine came to me. And I knew about her before I knew she had a term, or that other people had this experience too.

So knowing that, I would say... I don't think your dream guide should want to hide from you, or to keep his identity a secret.

I guess you'll just KNOW when you find your DG. Because it's true, they aren't like normal DC's. They have an intelligence and there certainly is a strong bond. But when mine is around... I don't know. I would just never question her honesty. Because it's all there, out in the open. She is my guide. She is there for me, to help me. To teach me things. It's just a feeling I get, a profound knowing.

It's pretty much placebo, do accept information on how to control your dreams because it will work. It works for me. If you put enough attention on something it gets more vivid. Don't ask 'it' on what to do with your life, that's just silly.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

The only reason your DC's usually do that is because YOU don't completely believe you are dreaming. They are a part of your brain remember.
This manifestation obviously just was a part of you that knew you were dreaming.
I hear a lot of people say the same thing, my DC's just don't question it at all (only a few occasions I think).

The beagle and lion thing you mentioned reminds me of my DG lol
Even though it ended up being a later dream, not a description of your DG but it just reminded me lol
And you could have just dreamed that because you were thinking about what the DC meant.

There might not be any use in asking DC's for a name or anything, I dunno.
If you had found your DG you would just know it, you don't need input from other people, you just KNOW it is your Dream Guide, you feel it.

EDIT: Also, not helping you out in a fight doesn't automatically mean it's not your DG, they aren't there to protect you and tell you you're dreaming every time you sleep.

      Thanks for the feedback :]

Yeah, that makes sense... it was obviously my own mind trolling me or something XD

      Will do..

Now that you mention that, I remember dreams where I've talked to denying DCs and it seems like one of those frequent dreams I have where I fully realize I'm dreaming, only to be distracted minutes later. Maybe I was just "dreaming of being lucid" when I finally asked them?

There might not be any use in asking DC's for a name or anything, I dunno.
Yeah, I tried the same thing in a dream this morning and it clearly doesn't work for me, even though everyone knew I was dreaming too -.-

From now on I'll just walk around lucid, keep it in my head and hope for the best XD unless I want to be amused and ask what weird creature/object a DC could come up with for a DG next..

Couldn't you create or find a Dream Guide store where you could pick one up from? Maybe if you could, then you could sort out which are the best and which are the village idiots
Also, put a disclaimer on your choice by saying to them that the DG of your choice will be with you for life and can be summoned at anytime you wish.

I really hope mine is a Jessica Alba or Vanessa Angel lookalike
