I've been really thinking lately about the idea of a dream guide. Whether they're separate beings or just more intelligent DCs (that's pretty much what I think), I think the idea of one sounds cool so I'm trying to find mine.

I haven't seriously considered finding mine until yesterday. I had a lucid dream back in January where I tried asking for my dream guide, though, to see what would happen.

In the dream, I woke up in my bed (lucid) and walked into the room next door. I found a grown man and a boy, who looked about 14-16 years old, sitting on the couch and petting some kind of dog. I think it was a pug, but I'm not sure.

I started talking to the boy, and throughout the conversation I had to rub my hands together to keep the dream stable. I explained this to him, and he understood. He seemed to me like a more intelligent DC because he "understood" in the sense that he new it was my dream and exactly why I was rubbing my hands together. My dream characters either don't know what I'm talking about or don't believe me when I mention it's a dream. Unfortunately, I don't remember most of our conversation, but he wasn't giving me entirely odd answers.

At one point, I asked him, "Can you help me find my dream guide?" to which he answered, "I actually have a letter from your dream guide." He handed me a folded piece of loose leaf paper. I opened it and written in pencil were words that were written in very weird handwriting but legible. Most of the words weren't even real words, though, and many of the letters were written more than once. I tried looking for some kind of logical sentence and all I remember finding was "I am a beagle."

I asked, "My dream guide is a beagle?" He nodded. I then said "I thought it was a lion this entire time" (which was true). He smiled and said "yeah..." I was confused, but I didn't bother to ask what he meant.

So I asked him for his name. He rubbed the back of his neck, as if embarrassed. He said "Juat."
I tried to confirm, "Juat?", but he shook his head no. I kept asking for a name, but he'd keep giving me false names. Finally, he said "O... Olive."
"Your name is Olive?"
He nodded. I asked him, "Okay. Do you think you could do me a favor?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you remind me in my next dream that I'm dreaming?"
"Sure."

The dream then faded and I woke up. I never saw him again after that.

Do you think I should I accept ANY of this information as true? He seemed sane at first, but the name-guessing really made me wonder 0.o Also, he never came to remind me I was dreaming in later dreams. But I was incredibly lucid in that dream and I felt a sort of "friendship" with him.

JUST RECENTLY, actually, I had a non-lucid dream involving a lion who supposedly was there to protect me from harm, only to ignore my crying for help while I was attacked by dogs.

I don't know... any thoughts?
