does anyone else record moon phases in there DJ???

i have an app on my phone that tells me moon phases and ive began recording the moons phase in addition to the date in my DJ. ive read that there might be some link between the moon and our dreaming, i have only been doing this a few months but noticed i had very wicked and vivid dreams last full moon ,the kind you would remember forever, even if you never wrote it down.

Im sure there are many people that may disagree with me, but in all the years that I have been LDing(as far back as I can remember) I have also noticed a link between phases of the moon and lucidity. I do not record the phases in my DJ however, I just happen to know what phase the moon is at during the time of the month. Anyway, I believe that this may have to do with different sleep patterns during the different moon phases. For instance, I believe that we dream much more vividly during the phases of the moon approaching the full moon. The full moon I believe is where very vivid and quite entertaining lucids appear. However, I have to play devils advocate and say that vivid lucids are completely up to the dreamer. For instance, you will have a vivid lucid, if you truly believe that you can have a vivid lucid. This theory makes sense considering the fact that dreams are part of your subconscious. Since it is all in your head, you have to put it in your head that it can be a vivid lucid. I will try to relate this as well as I could. It is like trying to win a hot dog contest when you are not hungry. Sure you will eat the hot dogs, but how can you achieve that highest level and win without that necessary component? LDing is the same. How can you have a vivid dream if you don't belive that you can? So there you go. I have given you both sides of the story. Believe what you wish. Does the moon have anything to do with LDing? It might, but the second theory seems to make more sense. Whichever one you choose to believe, I wish you the best of luck as you continue your journey into the world of lucidity. I hope this helped!

Reality is what you make it. Why not make it a dream?

I've never recorded moon phases, but the theory makes sense. As someone once told me, about half to three quarters of your body is water. If the moon affects the tide, why shouldn't it affect us?

As for what Optim said, I think he was basically talking about the placebo effect. Of course that can play a role too.

I don't record the moon phase, but I always check it. I might make a note of full/new moons but that's it. I might use the idea though, it's a good suggestion.

      I did once

I did record it once, because that thought had occured to me as well. I haven't followed through with it, but may do so now! To combat the placebo effect, maybe check out what the moon phase was during times you didn't record it and see if the occurance of the full moon versus other moon phases made a difference. In fact, I think I will do that (on my end)...I will get back to you...

After review...it does appear that more of my remembered dreams occur during the phase of the full moon! It's not by a large margin, though. I went a bit further and looked at Lucid versus epic dreams and it seems those occured more during new and full moon phases, as well. I'll do more research for myself. If I come into anything revealing about the link of the phases of the moon to the types of dreams I have, I will let you know!

Well if a full moon is supposed to help your dreams, then I'm the opposite. Google says that the current moon for tonight (for me) is going to be a waning crescent, and I've had a large increase in the length, vividness, and lucidity of my dreams lately.

ty all, good insight ,i never really paid much attention to the two together,i dont know why but i just started linking lucids to the moon phases and i had no idea it was a full moon when i had my last lucid, so its not placebo effect but could still be coincidence, i definitely agree that if you believe you will have vivids for any reason ,you probably will.

Anything to help me have em is a good thing sinc i just uusually happen to fliku on lucids anyway, but ive had 2 wilds in a month so i will try that route for a while.
P.S. i also got a wicked app for binaural programs that seems to be helping a lot called Altered states and another one called astral dreams....i love my phone lol

I've never paid attention to it. I doubt it would have any affect regardless.
