Funny Coincidences

My sister and I sometimes send one another random text messages containing movie quotes.

Yesterday when I woke up strawberries popped into my mind for some reason, so I sent her this text "Strawberries are red!"

I was expecting her usual reply, something like "Wild strawberries! Red and Wild, that's your theme!" You know, just finishing the movie quote. But instead she texts me, "why did you send me that text? did you *see* something?"

And I replied, "I just thought of strawberries and decided to send a movie quote, why?"

"I received your text right as I was eating the strawberry from my champagne glass! So weird little sister!!"

And of course I had to ask, "who has strawberries and champagne at 9am on saturday morning!!" lol, but that part is irrelevant.

And then, what inspired this thread, was about a half hour ago I was thinking how badly I wanted to go to Taco Bell for lunch. My friend who lives in California sends me a text and tells me that he just woke up from a dream and I was in it. He said that in the dream I was on TV preaching about tacos!! How strange is that? I hardly ever get random Taco Bell urges, and this friend wouldn't know about that anyway, lol.

I love fun little synchronicities like these. I have many many more of these to share, more profound and awe inspiring, lol...but rather than spend this thread talking about them all, I'd much rather hear about YOUR strange and funny little "coincidental" occurrences. I could have put this in the Lounge, but I thought we'd get more interesting replies here.

That's awesome! (Except for the taco bell part, they're not so great. Actually I think they put drugs in their food just so you have random cravings! I swear it!)

Who do you think started it? Did your friend dreaming about you make you want tacos? Or did you wanting tacos make your subconscious appear in his dream?

Synchronicity for me mostly only happens in dreams. One time I had a crazy dream. Just nuts. I remember the most random scene were two gay guys confessing their love to each other, in a christian confession booth of all places, lol. I tell my best friend about my crazy dream - and she tells me it sounds familiar! Actually, all the major events in my dream paralleled a RP game between her and another friend. I never knew about the RP game, it was private and only between them. But some how it ended up in my head!

My mom had a funny synchronocity. She had a terrible dream! The government had turned evil. We had to go into hiding, but it's not that easy with the army controlling every major road! So we went into woods and traveled to northwest on foot, we were going to another state, northwest. Some place safe! She wakes up stressed, because the dream was so real.

Then she gets a phone call that morning! It's her brother (my beloved crazy uncle). He reads one too many conspiracy theories and is convinced all hell will break lose by the end of the year!!

He tells my mom one too many things for her poor mind to wrap around. He tells her, pack food! Be ready to travel on foot! Learn to live in the forest! And then he tells her about a place in Colorado - a sacred place safe from the government!

My mom is thinking "Colorado is northwest!!". So she took it all very seriously and started packing emergency things - for the day we would run deep into the woods.

It's been two years

lol. It didn't happen. My mom still says if anything does happen, she's dragging us to that safe place in Colorado. Of course, she could have just been dreaming of my uncles head!

This makes me wonder about dream sharing. I'm convinced there are two kinds, subconscious and conscious dream sharing.

Me and my lady do this on a daily basis.

I was on a trip with my sister and she was sitting on the floor drawing a
heart in the sand (we were waiting for a bus). I was standing behind her
and just imagined her, for no reason, crossing it, like drawing a diagonal
line through the middle. And she did precisely that. I asked her about it
and she said that she had no idea why. She wasn't thinking, it just happened.

Not kidding: Today I had a funny coincidence, then I glanced over and saw this thread. That made it even funnier, but I forgot what actually happened.
