      RommiH's Workbook

      RommiH’s Workbook
      Hello! This is my workbook.

I am fairly new to lucid dream and even newer to Dream Views.

I really hope I am able to commit to this class. I have exams very soon and I’m spending most of my time studying. But I will do my best.
I have already had a few lucid dreams so I guess I have a little experience. One of them was a WILD and the rest DILDs.

I keep a dream journal that I update everyday. On average I recall around three or four dreams a night. My record was eight. My complete dream journal is not on Dream Views. Only a few interesting experiences are posted. I will post my dreams to the Dream Views dream journal on a daily basis if the class requires. I am considering transferring my dream journal to Dream Views anyways. If I do that then I’ll continue to record my dreams straight to Dream Views.
I’m not so sure what this workbook should contain so I’ll just follow the layout of other dream journals.

      Dream Signs:
      • My school’s gym (Many dreams start or end here)
      • Attacking friends, classmates, and just people I know (Very common…)
      • Guns (They always malfunction -__-)
      • Strange insects
      • Playing the guitar (I get better every dream!)
      • Being in the car with my dad (was very common)
      • Super Markets (I live in one (in my dreams))
      • In terms of people… Well everyone is in my dreams as they are in waking life…

      Reality Checks:
      • Palm poke
      • Nose plug
      • Reading text twice
      • Thinking back to see how I got to where I am. I follow this by a careful inspection of my surroundings.

      Short Term Goals:
      •Extended conversation with DCs.
      •Fly
      •Summon a taco into existence.
      •Summon a burrito into existence.
      •Eat the taco.
      •Eat the burrito.
      •Fight a DC.
      •Walk into a mirror.
      •Spin

      Long Term Goals:
      •360 vision
      •Explore the cosmos.
•Have at least 1 lucid dream a night.
      •Have prolonged lucid dreams.
      •Control time
      •Meet my dream guide.

      Techniques I have used:
      • MILD to achieve DILD
      • WILD

Welcome to DVA Rommi! I definitely think you should transfer your journal to the DV blog. I read your WILD entry and the one with the sleep paralysis, would love to read more of your entries.

Dream sign update: My place at Ras Sudr (0n the Red Sea). I have found that many of my dreams will end here.

I have gotten into the habit of questioning my actions. I ask myself what am I doing? and why am I doing it? Then I might mentally retrace my steps and question how I got where I am.

My recall has been bad lately. My dreams seem to be getting very long and elaborate. I hope my recall gets better soon so I can appreciate those dreams more.

But you're taking finals now, right? So your recall should be better after finals. What's your recall like currently? One of the many guides for how to increase dream recall, take a look. It's impressive that you can remember your long dreams though. Unless you have long dreams, but can't remember much of them when you wake up. Then that sucks.

Those questions are very good for improving awareness! Keep at it, you'll see some increased awareness in your dreams soon.

Last night I finally managed to wake up while keeping my eyes closed and not moving my body. I did not succeed in anything because I had a coughing fit. (Im really sick....) It really sucked.

Aww I'm sorry. I just got over nearly 3 weeks of coughing that kept messing up my dreams.

      Get well soon Rommi! <3

I have a question. If i wake up sometime during the night, manage to keep my body still and my eyes closed, does it need to happen after a dream has ended? hence the term D EXIT ILD. If there was no dream before then would it count as a WILD? I tried it last night and nothing happened for a long time..

DEILD can make it much easier for people to WILD. But I suppose if you had no dream beforehand, then you might have tried WILDing. Or perhaps you didn't remember your dream.

Yeah I'm glad you asked this, because the difference between DEILD and WILD can sometimes be confusing. What makes it even MORE confusing is the fact that any of the dreams in a DEILD chain may be accompanied by vibrations and even SP, just like a WILD. Which makes it even more difficult to distinguish between the two. Basically, the initial dream in a DEILD chain can be either a DILD or a WILD, depending on its onset. However, the subsequent dreams would be considered a DEILD chain, as long as they occured after the initial dream ended, with brief periods of waking up, and reentering the dream without losing awareness.

Hope that clears things up somewhat.

I have been doing a very bad job at keeping my dream journal both on DV and offline. Once my exams are over I will fix that. I do record my dreams in simple, to the point sentences though. Once I get the chance I will write them in my DJ in full detail.
My recall seems to be improving again so there's something to be happy about.
Is it possible to dream that you are lucid but not actually be aware that you are dreaming? Last night I had a dream where I supposedly became lucid. In the dream I somehow knew I was dreaming all of a sudden. I said it out loud and yelled it at some guy. After that I also yelled to him "EY NIGGA!! Catch this!" I tossed him this container of some vaseline type substance. This is just a very brief summary of the dream. More happened but this is the most important part. I do not think I was lucid though... I wake up and it felt like a normal non-lucid dream. It wasn't my decision to yell "EY NIGGA!" I wasn't in control. In the dream I was in control, but I wasn't actually in control... make sense??

Oh and here is another interesting dream experience (I'll link the DJ entry once i get around to updating my DJ). The same night I had my non-lucid lucid, I had a dream where I told my friends about a dream I actually had earlier that night. So cool!

That's certainly possible. It sounds like you did become aware you were dreaming though. I do some stupid stuff in my LDs, it only feels like I'm half in control of myself. In one of my LDs, I decided to grab my friend's head. Why? No real reason, I just did it, somehow it made sense. You can realize you're dreaming without having much control of your environment or your own actions.

I'm eager to read your new DJ entry! I'd like to read this dream in its entirety.

I also had a dream where I discussed a dream I had with DCs. That shows that you're making progress, RommiH, keep doing whatever it is that you're doing.

I have gotten pretty good at waking up without opening my eyes or moving. These last two days I have had some cool experiences. I managed two consecutive lucid dreams in one morning. The next day I had a similar experience but failed to recognize I was in a dream during a FA. I'll add details later. I've been really busy lately. My last exam is tomorrow!

:O Congrats! The morning that you had two consecutive LDs, did you chain them? That's really exciting news, and it's impressive you've been able to focus on LDing during your exams. Good luck on your last one. Let us know what the LDs were like when you have the time too!

Haha thanks! I honestly cant remember if they were chained.... I think they were. The dream content was very similar. Pools. Girls. Chimpanzees. I finally finished my exams and I'm ready for some serious dreaming. But I'm sorta jet-lagged. I traveled to california and every morning I wake up super early and I have trouble falling back asleep which is usually when I have a lucid dream.

But despite its amazing clarity and vividness. I only have a moderate recall of it.
