      Habbyster's Work Book :)

Dreamsigns: I've noticed some reaccuring things in my dreams, but it is to early to call it a dreamsign. I will mention them anyway

      - School. I usually dream about school, it's usually the location or just random class mates.

      - Games. I'm an avid games player and I'm often dreaming that I am inside the game, as a character.

      - Large Store. I usually dream about being inside a huge shop, I think it's "Tescos".

      Reality checks:

      Plugg my nose
      Watch the clock
      Watch my hands
      Ask myself where I am
      Fingers against palm technique.

I'm starting to do about 10-15 Reality Checks a day.

      Short term goals:

[]Get better dream recall. I only remember about 1-2 dreams per night, 2 if I'm lucky. I want to be able to remember about 3.

[]Get my first intentional Lucid, I used to Lucid dream when I was younger, but I didn't mean it. It'd just...happen.

[]Eat or drink something in a lucid dream. I've heard about eating or drinking in a Lucid Dream, I want to check it out.

[]Be stable in a Lucid Dream

      Long term goals:

[]Start some kind of lucid adventure. I want to start some sort of adventure that I can do in my lucids. Every lucids would be it's own chapter.

[]Be in full control of my Lucid's.

      Technique:

Since I'm just starting out, I'm listening to "Lucid Dream Induction - "Neuroscape" - Binaural Beats (90 Min Sleep Cycle)" and just falling asleep. I set my alarm for approx. 4:45 and try the FILD technique.

I hope this is okay, I basically copy and pasted someone else's and just edited the text, since I couldn't find a nice layout

Hello Habbyster, welcome to the class! We don't need fancy layouts in this class, your first workbook post looks just fine!

It's pretty cool that you had some LDs when you were a kid. That might make it easier for you now. So what do you think you'll do to help your recall? Do you already have a dream journal? Will you change your sleep schedule, or use mantras? There are some foods and supplements that can help you increase dream vividness too, and that could potentially help you remember dream details better. The other apprentice for this class, RareCola, (I'm also an apprentice) made a guide recently: RareCola's nighttime routine to help increase recall and lucidity. That might also have some helpful tips for you.

Read Lesson 1, and let us know if you have any questions. We have IRC sessions a few times a week too, so feel free to join us sometime this week!

Thanks, yeah I have a Dream Journal, I would link it but can't post links just yet

My sleeping schedule is never perfect anyway, I'm only 16 therefore I sleep at crazy times, and sometimes never sleep (party etc) so I'll probably be using mantras, what are they though? I've heard of them but never looked into it.

I've read lesson 1 and it cleared one or two things up for me

Mantras are basically a phrase you repeat over and over through the day, and more precisely, right up until the point that you fall asleep. They're to enforce a desire into your subconscious. For example, if you wanted to remember your dreams you could repeat "I wake up after each of my dreams and recall them perfectly." or if you wanted help with DILDs you could repeat "Tonight, I will realise I'm dreaming."

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.

Oh right okay, I'll definitely try Mantras tomorrow. For now I've just been doing regular reality checks as I listed above today
