      Red face Vinny's workbook

Just starting this , to see how it works out. If you missed my introduction check out http://www.dreamviews.com/f151/sign-...-class-132405/ or just read on.

Vince. 18 years old. Started trying to Lucid Dream about a week ago. I haven't become fully lucid in my dreams yet, but I have gotten pretty close.

      Reality Checks:
      -Plug nostrilz
      - Poke hand
      -Check alarm clock x3

      Dream Signs:
      - A dc I call "m"
      - school setting
      - old friends,teacher

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Become Lucid
      - Write about it in my DJ on DV
-eat a sandwich, then go back to bed to successfully WBTB

      Long-Term Goals:
      - become lucid on a daily basis
      - ?
      -??

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - I recall 2/3 dreams every day . I wake up after each REM cycle it seems

      Current Technique:
      - I just go to sleep, with mantras. So DILD?

Homework Lesson I : (is that posted here?)
      1. Start your own workbook thread in this subforum (here)✓
      2. Start a Dream Journal and record each dream.✓
      3. Record the times that you naturally go to bed and wake-up, and list it in your workbook.✓
      4. Do reality checks whenever you experience something weird throughout the day, and list it in your workbook.✓
      5. Write a list for why you want to lucid dream (for motivation), and plan out what you want to do in your next lucid dream.)✓
      6. Establish a night-time routine (Include reading your dream journal, making sure to leave your DJ open to a blank page for quicker dictations). ✓

      I'll update when completed

      3. last night I was so restless! I went to bed at 3 something woke up at 6, then gave up trying to fall asleep at 7.
      5. I don't really have a list of reasons. I'm curious to see what if feels like, to be aware in a dream. Once I can successfully lucid, I'd love to explore my subconscious, interact with dream characters, go to concerts, nonexistent worlds and fly. Very cliche'd desires. But 100% motivated.

Haven't started #4 or the day yet.

      paigeyemps... I appreciate that, thanks.

      To finish #3
I "naturally" go to bed at 12-1 . But with various sleep-stoppers, sometimes I am forced into insomnia. I wake up at 7. Last night was a bad example of that natural sleeping schedule .

On to #4 - Bizarre Looks

Earlier today I went to ride my bike and I could swear there was another bicyclist that I saw 3 different times. It was over a mile-long ride, so I questioned it. I thought I recognized her, but I'm in an entirely new state for college. I did two quick RC's and realized I was awake.

aaand - lvl 1 complete haha

Awww that's alright. Just remember that your subconscious is like a baby. It doesn't learn on the first few tries, instead, you have to consistently keep reminding it so that sooner or later, it will remember and do what it's told

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Good luck in your WILD attempt! Remember it's always much better to do a WILD during a WBTB, so that you go straight into REM sleep

@Opheliablue Last night, I got more sleep than usual (by an hour) and I was just focusing on clearing my mind before bed. In my dream, I was at try-outs for college lacrosse and remembered to do 1 reality check. The nose-plug. It didn't work, but I continued to think I was lucid. Maybe I got overly excited, because the next thing I knew I had a false awakening. THERE I failed to do a RC, went back to "sleep" and thought I was in a lucid dream, yet again. I don't remember my dream after that...I could have been Lucid!!

Haha I used to have FAs all the time. I know how annoying they can be. But definitely keep practicing reality checks, ESPECIALLY right when you wake up. This will help combat the FA thing. As far as nose-plug thing failing, there's certainly nothing wrong with having a couple different RCs to try back to back. Especially if they engage several physical senses instead of just one.

Anyway, how has your dreaming been going? I see your still journaling regularly so I'm about to go read it now. Sorry I took a while to reply to your workbook. I had a very busy week and I'm just now catching up on everybody.

The only thing is during my FAs I always forget to do a second RC. While in waking life I make it a habit to do multiple. Being partially-lucid was a completely different experience than I expected. So I think you could be onto something with the HH reference in my DJ.

And with school about to start , I've adjusted my sleeping schedule and continued to have vivid dreams. I also had several close lucid experiences that I have not yet posted due to lack of time, memory, or wifi... same applies to my workbook; I always feel pretty bad when I hear about the podcasts I miss haha

So I have now had a few very short lucid dreams. I know that the excitement is supposed to wake you up, but it only puts me into a false awakening where I don't know how to move etc (besides the reality check to induce it).
Hope I can keep it up as my next goal is dream control.

      Hey Vinny

So how goes it with the lucid dreams, and are you still having those FAs?

no i haven't! it might be because i'm trying WILD's instead of MILD's and end up just falling asleep.

I had my first nightmare in a while a few days ago.
