Hey there, welcome to the class!
Definitely hold on to that excitement. Motivation is the ultimate key to lucid dreaming. If you can get a goal to achieve in a lucid dream that really gives you that butterflies-in-stomach feeling, that's great.
Dream recall can be pretty sporadic and delicate, I've found the best way to stabilise it is to make sure you go to bed and wake up at the same times every day and dedicate a good 10-15 minutes before bed just setting your intention on dream recall and lucidity.
Apart from ADA/SAT, I would recommend self-awareness. Even something simple like questioning "What was I doing 10 minutes ago? What am I doing now? What am I going to be doing in 10 minutes?" and asking yourself if it's all logical.
I didn't see any mention of a WBTB, have you practiced that at all? Even a short one can double your chances of having a lucid dream if you couple it with some MILD techniques.
