      SirCronus's Workbook

Just recently learned about LD's and became obsessed with them! super committed and not going to give up until i get one

Things i'd like to try in an LD:

      Flying
Eating something (had a quick LD before, ate candy, and it tasted real!)
      Have a conversation with myself
      Sex of course haha
Dj in front of a huge crowd at EDC or something

      Reality Checks:
      Turning lights on and off
      examining my hands/counting fingers
Just questioning my surroundings in general

      Dream Signs:
I'm not 100% sure about this, being that don't have that great of dream recall, but i think my one dream sign that i notice in almost every dream is that i'm with some girl i like. usually i different one everytime.

      Nighttime Routine:
So far i've went over getting relaxed before sleep. Such as: Hot Shower, listening to chillout/lounge music, expecting to have an LD, and keeping confident about the journey as a whole

All in all, super stoked to learn more about LD's and dreaming

Hey SirCronus! Welcome to the class

Lemme just go ahead and say this: DREAM FOOD IS AWESOME! especially lucid dream food! hahaha

Looking forward to seeing you around. Good luck! And don't hesitate to ask any questions whatsoever

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Lesson I
I'm starting to get the hang of my dream recall, being that i've never been able to remember anything before :p so i've been more able to try and read my dream signs. i've started to noticed aside from seeing girls i like often in my dreams, if i don't see on of them i'm always seeing my family. whether it be my sisters, parent's, close friends of the family. Proabably because it's summer and i don't get out of the house often, the only people i see most days is the family. So from now on i'm going to work on RCing when i'm around family. Hopefully this works!

Hello SirCronus. I'm a little late, but welcome to the class! I take it you're using DILD. Have you looked much into MILD? Dream incubation can be helpful, such as reading about LDing before bed, thinking about what you'd like your lucid dream to be like before bed, anything that keeps your mind on having a lucid dream.

      Lesson II
I've decided on the lucid dream induction techniques that i'm going to be trying out for the next week or so. After looking into all the different ways to go about getting lucid dreams, the SSILD and the FILD techniques stood at the most to me(: I alternated between the 2 last night, seeing how they made me feel, and i was instantly relaxed. It really gave me something to focus on, while constantly being reminded that i'm trying to lucid dream. I actually remembered my dream being about lucid dreaming! But more just learning about it and not really thinking that i might be dreaming haha. So no LD yet, but I feel that i'm almost there! Also, before practicing LDing i would always sleep in almost a fetal position. But lot's of the tutorials about lucid dreaming say to sleep on your back? so i've been trying that and it's kinda been giving me a stiff neck is it better to sleep on you back for lucid dreaming? or does the position not really matter? because i can get used to sleeping on my back in a couple days or so and get the soreness out, but i'm just curious. Thanks!

Don't worry about the sleeping position other people recommend, what's most important is that you're comfortable. If you're going to practice FILD--a variation of WILD--I'd suggest you just sleep in a way where your limbs don't overlap on any other part of your body. I've experimented with WILD, and since I always lay on my side, found that my arm laying across my stomach was distracting. I was trying to focus on something, yet the contact between my arm and stomach kept disrupting the meditative state I was trying to achieve. Laying on your back minimizes that contact, but it's definitely not necessary.

Good luck with SSILD/FILD! One of the other students, kraom, has been using SSILD very successfully, so I hope you also have a lot of success with it.

      Lesson III
I think i might be making some progress with the SSILD and FILD methods. I switch between the 2 each day. The only thing i'm struggling with is the WBTB. Both techniques say that they are best if you try them after 4-5 hours of sleep. And i'm a pretty heavy sleeper :/ so i've been doing them right before going to bed, just to practice. No Ld's yet, but still i'm slowly getting my dream recall up. I think i might have an LD within this next week. Getting there!

I'm a heavy sleeper too, getting in the habit of WBTBs can be difficult. A few methods you could try are: mantras (I wake up after each of my dreams--or something similar), drinking before bed, going to sleep an hour or two earlier than usual. Or, worse comes to worse, tons of alarms. Just try to use something that won't jar you too much. Relying on alarms isn't ideal, but it'll still work.

If you want, you can try drinking fluids before bed. It makes you wake up naturally so you can relieve yourself when you need to go to the bathroom. I, too, constantly struggle with WBTB, even though it is my favorite method. I usually do mantras/autosuggestion as what Caenis said. Moreover, I drink apple juice before bed. Not only does apple juice wake me up naturally for a bathroom break, it also gives me really vivid dreams!

      Good luck

Just a thought: August is coming up! Why don't you create a list of personal lucid goals you would like to achieve this month? It can help motivate you and put you in a better mindset to get lucid sooner! Good luck.

I think that definitely might help. I've been losing my determination and getting kinda lazy recently. Making some goals will probably bring me back up to speed!

I haven't been on here at all in the last month or so because I've been so busy but...... I finally did it. I unitentionaly did a WBTB and a DIELD that resulted in a long ass vived as hell lucid (: It had to have been at least 20 minutes! full on lucid, I made people appear, I flew (not well but it was fun xD), almost got laid! but the lucid started to fade away :'( I posted the whole dream in my DJ: Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views - SirCronus - Dream Journals
Super-stoked for more. I'm thinking they'll come easier considering I hardly even tried for this one(:

That's awesome. I tend to find, with WILD and it's variants (DEILD etc), it's much easier to achieve them when you're not trying to or expecting to achieve them. This is because by actively looking out for them when the signs of them approaching do happen (HI, HH, SP) you notice them and you get this adrenaline rush that kicks you out of the attempt.
Check out my DreamViews Podcast with OpheliaBlue!

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.
