In my next lucid dream I want to practice persistent realms. I want to make a mansion and fill it with fun things to do, then I can revisit it every night. I also want to try having a shared dream, but will take some time.

Persistent realms is a good idea to help you get lucid, as you will recognise your dream mansion. I'd say you should keep shared dreaming as a long term goal, something not worth focusing on at the moment. Instead, focus on getting yourself longer lucid dreams and more frequent lucid dreams, then try out shared dreaming after you have the basics down.

      Happy LDing!

Welcome to the class sweetdreamer1! Nice workbook

So you say you have had a couple short DILDs, which is also how I started LDing! You know, the second LD in your journal was short, but the first one seemed to be fairly long. You made really good decisions like rubbing your hands together, and imagining a door. That means you're using rational skill in your LD, which is one way to make them last long. I did also notice that in both LDs you were flying. The act of flying might be a bit too exhilarating for starting out, which may be a contributing factor in waking up too soon. In your next LD, you might want to try focusing on a couple goals, that are a bit more grounded (literally lol). Try walking around, and taking the time to notice all your senses. Not that you aren't supposed to fly in a lucid dream, it's just easier to focus on all your senses when you can concentrate on your environment first, then maybe fly a little while later in the lucid. Whatever helps you gain more control will allow you to have more satisfying (and hopefully LONGER) lucid dreams.

Thanks realdealmagic and OpheliaBlue. I'll take your advice and try not to over exhilerate myself. Last night I tried to WILD after 6 hours of sleep and I wasn't successful but I came very close, I could feel the lead blanket that was sleep paralysis. It's in my DJ entry Tried to WILD - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      Hey sweetdreamer1

It does seem like you were really close. What happened? Did you just fall asleep? At least it was practice for next time!

Yea I just fell asleep. I was making up a dreamscape in my head I wanted to visit, and it worked, but it didn't make me lucid. Next time I'll be visualizing numbers as I breathe to keep my mind awake.

Last night I tried to wild again but I fell asleep right away. Tomorrow I have an early appointment so I don't know if I'll have the chance to WILD.

Oh so you were able to incubate? Cool! And yes the counting helps. I use it a lot.

I figured I should update my workbook.

I bought the remee sleep mask, and the first night it sort of worked. I had like 5 chained lucids but I don't think it was because of the mask, maybe it was a placebo effect. I just kept looking at my hands and realizing I was dreaming, then I would have a FA and do it again. It was pretty cool though, I wish they lasted longer than 30 seconds.

Oh cool! Are you going to keep using it? It seems like it would take time to learn to get lucid with it. I'm really curious how that works out for you in the long term.
