      MusicDragon's Workbook

      Reality Checks:
      - Pressing my hand against a wall to see if I go through
      - Attempting to fly (I flap my arms as if they were wings)
*I would like to note that this reality check is only done when I'm in the presence of my cat since most flying dreams begin in my backyard when he is there.
-Reading text, looking away, and reading it again to see if it changed.

      Dream Signs:
      - Cats, most particularly Patch, my cat, and Little One, one of my cats that disappeared Unfortunately, her presence always makes me realize I'm dreaming...
      - Carnivals.
      - Flying.
      -Severe weather.
      *New* (as of 05/04/13)
      - My grandmother's backyard
      - Marching band instruments.

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Increase dream recall.
      - Increase awareness during daytime.

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Learn various techniques to obtain lucidity.
      - To dream more vividly.
      - To be able to exercise more control in a dream.
      - To learn to summon various dream characters.
      - To learn to manipulate the landscape.
      - To learn to revisit dreams.

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - I've had several lucid dreams, one actually attained through WILD (however it was the only time it ever worked. Lucky, I guess)
      - My dream recall is relatively good, though not as good as last year since I stopped keeping a dream journal (though I plan to keep one now). Currently, I only recall feelings and fragments of dreams.

      Current Technique:
      - Right now I will begin first by increasing dream recall and awareness during the day. So perhaps DILD or MILD is the way to go at the moment. (or perhaps both).

      Welcome MusicDragon!

Looks like you are off to a great start! Wild is definitely the more difficult way to get lucid for most. I look forward to seeing your future lucidity

So far, my bedtime has been between 10-11pm. However, last night was a bit of an exception. I was watching Star Trek and didn't really go to sleep until around 12:30. I had meant to wake at 6am because I wanted to do garden work but ended up falling asleep instead, which turned out to be a good thing because I got to experience a miraculous DILD.

I think for tonight, I will attempt to summon again. I already got flying down pretty well. I remember when I couldn't steer. I'm so glad that last night's dream went well, even though I hadn't LD'd in a long time or practiced flying in a dream.

Now, a long time ago, I had attempted to summon Sebastian (character from Black Butler). It was very successful, and he had taken my arm was about to lead me through a door. Behind the door was a swirling black and grey cloud. And I was so curious and I thought he was going to give me a tour of the place, but when we stepped inside I woke up

I am dying to revisit the dream again, and I'm hoping I can summon him successfuly and remain lucid and in control long enough to make the door reappear. I think the door could lead to somewhere interesting (maybe my own personal hell?).

I have just realized that my grandmother's backyard has been a recurring setting in my dreams. That and I also tend to have a lot of marching band related dreams. I really miss it.

Hey MusicDragon, welcome to the Intro Class!

Have you noticed any other dreams signs? Take note that emotions can be dream signs too! Seeya around :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I had a second lucid last night, but it was very unusual. Without really thinking, I WILD'd (is that how you say it???). The result was interesting. More details in my dream journal.

It's interesting that you mentioned emotions, because in all my dreams associated with carnivals, there is always an ominous feel in the air, regardless of how cheery the setting is. I never understood why, especially since I like carnivals and amusement parks, and rides. Every time I wake from the dreams, I always feel somewhat disturbed.

you might try some incubation for this dream. During the day, or right before sleep, putting yourself into the dream can help get you to the same place while asleep. Sounds fun
