      Hey SoccerTees, welcome!

I like the trolling dcs goal; it would be fun to see how that turns out. Do you keep a dream journal? Recording even the smallest piece of a dream will increase recall down the road. Other than that, keep familiarizing yourself with the feelings and sensations of sleep and dreaming.

What a difference a couple of days makes, SoccerTees! I caught your lucid in the DJ section... congratulations! That first LD is a huge deal. Really happy for you.

When you get the chance, you should write up all of your thoughts on what you think worked, techs you used, sleep, etc. This will be the start of your record-keeping that over time will help paint a picture of what works best for getting you lucid as consistently as possible.

I plan on doing this very soon, I have a question if that's alright.

      1) Ever since I started lucid dreaming, I've had a fairly hard time sleeping, I wake up 5-6 times throughout my sleep cycle which completely ruins everything. The excitement of doing a method and having the chance of going into a lucid dream makes it hard to sleep, fairly hard to explain I hope you understand. What can I do to stop this?

Thanks for the support, it's really appreciated. DV has been nothing but pleasant.

      Notes from my DJ:

      1)
      Notes:

Today is not my day, I usually use auto suggestion in order to naturally wake up. Unfortunately, everything has its flaws. I really don't want to use an alarm clock do to it being fairly disturbing. I don't recall anything today, no faces, no emotions, no images, nothing.

Just posting to get into the habit.

      2)

Possible Dream Signs(as of right now):

      1. Cousins
      2. School
      3. Forest
      4. Friends

Had my second lucid dream, somewhat hard to control but I'll eventually get the hang of it, I really should fix my sleep schedule as I think its holding me back.

      Congrats wow!

      two already is amazing

small tip: In the early stages of learning to lucid, control can actually do more harm than good. It can lead to shorter lucids, and increased difficulty interacting with the dream scape. As long as you are lucid and you know that, the control will slowly increase. Just becoming familiar with the dream state and becoming lucid is the best thing you can do at this point.

      once again, congrats!

Thanks for the tip, It makes sense and it could be the possible reason for my short LD's. My new goal will be to start getting comfortable with the dream world.

I completed my goal of trolling a DC! Very very excited . Having a very open mind makes it way easier to lucid dream.

Congratulations SoccerTees, not only on the lucids, but getting to have some fun trolling DCs.

Interesting! I've faced insomnia at WBTB before but not throughout the night, and definitely not at bed time. I can comment on what has worked for me at WBTB, though.

The primary change in attitude was to change my attitude at WBTB from bouncing off the walls excitement to more of a mood of contended anticipation and quiet observation. Sometimes thinking about lucid dreaming would make my heart pound. I'll allow myself this luxury during the day but during sleep time I try to keep it really reined in.

Are these awakenings brief? If they are, and you are waking up from a dream, I'd highly recommend attempting to DEILD into a lucid dream. (The DEILD technique involves immediately trying to WILD as soon as you catch yourself waking up from another dream.)

Do you find that your heart rate rises during these awakenings?
