      Dusskee's Workbook

This forum is much less active than I thought it was. That's okay. I'm here to learn and be inspired and there are no shortages of tutorials or inspiration. So I'm starting this workbook with the intention of giving lucid dreaming a more prominent role in my world.
History: I've lucid dreamed intentionally in the past, off and on, and loved it. The world of the waking seems to always find a way to distract me from dreaming. I hope that by starting the workbook my sub conscious will say, "Oh look, someone's serious this time," and work with me to make dreaming an important part of my lives.

      Dec 30 2022

      Dream Signs:
      - Giants or large statues
      - In school
      - At work

      Short-Term Goals:
      - To ground myself in dreams

      Long-Term Goals:
      - To meet dream archetypes and speak with them
      - To greet my fears and find out how to move past them, or at least find a way to work with or around them

May 11 2023 - I have returned and need to revise.

      Sleep: 12:30-6:45am

Induction Technique: DILD for 2 weeks & log experiences, even failures, here

      Reality Checks Three: RC3
I've chosen three reality checks to practice during the day in the hopes they will turn into a reflex.
I do all three, one after another. One (or all) of them will confirm my state.
1 Hand check 2 Finger through palm 3 Nose plug

CLUMB: after (hand based) RC3 I count on my fingers the seasonal tasks I will perform.
      - Chalk painting dive-in
      - Light the floor where I walk
      - Unusual pet
      - Many fruited tree
      - Boggle with dream characters

Daily Reality Checks: my life is pretty mundane so:
      - I wake.
      - Outside the house
      - Hear or see the word dream

      Dream Signs to RC to:
      -at school or work
      -bathroom
      -seeing deceased family members

      EVENING
I will log into Dream Views and read/comment on lucid dreams for further inspiration.
Sit quietly in dark and intend dream recall and lucid dreams.
      Practice RC3 three times.
Have a notebook nearby to record dreams.

      DREAMS

I was worried about my spouse at a dance but then they showed up in a silver sequin suit to party.

An entity kept trying to coax me out from the shadows but I sank further in because I felt I couldn't trust him.
(This one felt like a lucid space but I can't recall reality checking or realizing I'm dreaming at any point)

      DREAMS

Fleeting fragment of being near water, a sense of calmness.

I was trying to braid sticks together, no idea why, they kept snapping. I became angry.

Note: My dream recall is spotty these past couple of days. It may be because I'm working too hard at dreaming.

      DREAMS

Saw an old workplace . Went to my grandmothers to stargaze. Constellations had extra stars, thought to reality check. My legs were contorted impossibly under me, thought to reality check again but woke. ALMOST

Practices reciting as I searched for class in school . Couldn't even find the office to get direction. Eventually found an assembly and went to that instead.

A storm fell upon me and SR. We walked a dirt road on a plain. We were swept up into the sky by a gentle tornado then set down again. The tornado angered and came back. We sheltered in the heart of a junk pile then sought out people after the storm.

Note: Didn't sleep well, slept in for 2 hours today.

      No recall at all.
Perhaps I'm trying too hard, too soon?
I've decided to add some b vitamin into the sleep routine and simmer down on the obsessive reality checking. Need to work on recall most, by the looks of it.

At a tarp encampment in a houseless community, the members looked like cabbage patch kids and declined my help.

I lived at Jh's again but the house was atop a steep hill and no one wanted to come visit except kids.

Fleeting: Lost in a dark parking garage.

      DREAMS

Lost in an apartment building, that became a school , then a hospital, I finally found my room. My mother and aunt TW (both deceased) and nephew came to visit but I could not let them in. I could not find any pants. My sister eventually came in, covered herself head to toe in a blanket, and just laid there. "I'm so tired," she sighed. I was irked because she is lazy as heck and tired? Pushed the anger aside and admitted, "Me too." I kept looking for pants.

note: finally got some b vitamin, couldn't find B5 so got B6. I forgot to take it this night but will for sure, tonight.

No recall but I know there were dreams.

It's a week into this workbook and still no lucidity. I'm learning that dream recall is the most important goal right now.

      DREAMS

Dreams are evading recall! I've been dreaming and they are teasing on the tip of my memory all day. It's a bit frustrating but I laugh it off.
Come on brain. Lets work together on this. Let the dream recall flow and I'll take much better care of you. Nuts. Berries. Omega 3's. Making sleep a higher priority.

      DREAMS

My cousin gave me a ride home in his car which became an inflatable raft on a cardboard slat that skidded along the road like we were sleigh riding. On the highway my cousin jumped onto the back of a transport truck. In no time many people were crawling all over the truck. They waved for me to join them but I stayed in the road raft. It felt safer.

I lost my id in a tropical garden room in a Japanese like temple. I could not find my way back into the garden. Roamed around endlessly. A lady told me to follow the maid. So I did.

A large number of us sang-protested at a threatened waterfall. Season changed to winter and the city bulldozed snow over the cliffs and into the valley which we all occupied. I escaped. Most did not.

      DREAMS

Walking on train tracks, trains came from both ways. I sheltered in a shallow entryway and yelled for others to beware.

I cleaned a haunted house and saw two ghosts. I was not afraid and wanted to go back in to investigate.

We sheltered in a flimsy shed from dinosaurs that escaped a facility nearby. Luckily our dinos were small and kickable.

      DREAMS

The singer for a Metallica tribute band wanted to perform naked. He snatched a piece of paper from me and my cousin and I chased him. Turned into a Scooby Doo like chase in and out of doors in a long hallway.

Up on a ledge with a stunning view of lakes and mountains. There were kids who kept getting too close to the edge. Couldn't relax and enjoy the view because the children were making me anxious.

My sisters man took us on a surprise visit to get photographed with the General Lee car. I wasn't impressed and declined.

Something happened that made my brain tingle with all kinds of ideas.

Trees fell over in my back yard and crushed the neighbor's sheds. I tried to quickly get someone to remove the trees before the neighbor noticed the damage.

Hypnagogic: Cascades of little waterfalls streaming endlessly
