Hi im new and i have lots to ask..:)

Hi guys, im so glad i found this forum, and im hoping you can help me work out my dreams..
I will start by telling you all what bought me here this very morning...
Without going into to much detail (so as not to bore you..lol.) I found myself near the end of my dream where a HUGE shark was just about to attack me, i was thinking, well im dreaming, how much will it hurt, right? WRONG, i new from other dreams ive had that i can feel pain, so i started screaming at my self to wake up wake up wake up, and i pulled myself out of the dream just in time..lol. It was pretty scary but i knew i was dreaming so it was ok..
I have so many other dreams to tell you about, dreams where things ive dreamt became true. Dreams of being at conversations with other people and hearing and watching them but they dont know im there, then finding out later that everything i saw and heard really did happen with those people. Dreaming of ghosts. Dreaming once of the Mother Mary.. Lots of weird dreams if you want to hear about them and tell me where to post them

Thanks for reading, sorry for the short novel..lol. Cant wait to get to know you all..

      Hi Darkangels, welcome to Dreamviews!

That was definitely a lucid dream, since you acknowledged that you were dreaming. If you experience something like that again, remember that the shark (or whatever else it may be) is purely a part of the dream, and has no substance. It can't really hurt you. You could hold out your hand and should commandingly, "stop!"

If you were to expect the shark would stop attacking you, it probably would. This is the same for anything else in a dream; if you expect to wake up, you could really wake up, or end up in a false awakening. If you expect a person to appear around the corner, they probably will.

If you have any questions about the DV site or lucid dreaming in general, feel free to ask.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Ah definitely was a lucid dream. I'm fairly new at this but getting better. My latest one was kind of weird. Somehow I ended up falling thousands of feet then I realized this was a dream. So I smiled and stopped in mid air easily enough and while I stood there I wondered what to do. I ended up just doing insane moon jumps and flying around for about 30 minutes.

Thanks for the welcome Puffin and SupaCoopa, pleased to meet you both
Puffin, I knew/know that i could of stopped the dream and made the shark disappear, i have done it before many times with my dreams.
I remember one dream with a snake (my biggest phobia, im petrified of them) where it was chasing me, i was sooo scared, then i remembered thinking, hey, what am i doing, this is my dream, its not really there, go away, and it did..lol. I guess i could of done that with the shark but i just wanted out of there and to wake up..

      Ah, I hate snakes. o_o

Once in a lucid dream, there was a shadow creeping up between my bed and the wall. I looked directly at it, shook my finger and said, "no!" like I was correcting a dog or something. It went away.

Ok, i have another question, im not sure where this one would fit in the forum, and im not sure if it was a dream per say... I will try to explain so bear with me

A few years ago i was having some problems with my then boyfriend. He was seeing an old girl friend of his while i was at work etc and swore nothing was going on. I believed them but just had this feeling things were being said behind my back, and he wasn`t being totally honest with me.
Anyway, one day (i presume i was dreaming) i was aware of being at this girls house, i had never been there before, but her, my boyfriend and a few of their friends were sitting outback around the pool area. They were drinking sodas and lounging on pool-side chairs, i remember what they were all wearing, the colours of the chairs, even how much soda they had drunk from the bottle.
It was so real for a moment i thought i was actually there in the conversation, until i realised what they were actually discussing, IT WAS ME. Things that they would never of said if i were there. (When i realised none of them were aware i was there, i just thought this must be a dream)
To this day i dont remember actually waking from this dream (like usual) all i remember is fading away from them after i had heard enough and then just the memory of being there.
So fast forward a few weeks and the boyfriend and i were arguing about his friendship with this girl and him defending her and saying she would never say anything nasty about me, that she liked me. I was telling him how untrue that was because she had said this or she had said that, and he had told her this etc.. (you get the picture)
I described to him in exact detail every word that was said and by whom, even the exact moment (by the pool) it was all said. He wanted to know how i knew all this and who had told me, and i kept saying i was there, i saw and heard everything so there was no use denying any of it.. (He knew about my dreams as once i had saved his car from being stolen by a dream i had while the crime was in progress late at night, that one really freaked him out..lol)
So my question is, was i really there some how, or was it a dream?

p.s.. i hope all that was not to confusing..

Hi darkangels, welcome to the forum.. I'm very new here myself.

I think your intuition is very strong and I think you are highly perceptive of the characters of your boyfriend and his ex girlfriend. You already indicated a strong feeling of what kind of things were being said. Couple that with the vast majority of communication being none verbal I think you were able to anticipated what passed between them and the kind of setting it passed between them in. I think you dreamed a possible scenario that proved to be very accurate. Dreams are great
