      Scared

I want to lucid dream but I am scared that if I think of something I'm scared, it would turn into a nightmare. For example, when I'm scared I have a tendency to think of scary things such as ghosts. Would I see ghosts or anythings that are scary if I think about it.

Yeah you would/could. But the thing is you won't realize it till you wake up (unless you're lucid), and then it's already over. And if you're lucid then you know it's a dream and can stop it. :]

Generally the feeling of being lucid is so euphoric that you won't even think of scary things, rather just about how amazing and awesome it feels.

Also, if you do happen to think of whatever you're scared of, your subconscious won't start immediately projecting it and have them attack you. If you truly don't want any scary things your mind won't project them since you're in control.

Hope this makes you feel better. I have been lucid dreaming for a long time now and I also had some of the same fears as you. I've found that even if you some how managed to project something like a ghost, your euphoric feeling will play a role in it, and will probably make the ghost silly or funny, and not harmful in anyway.

Your lucid dreams will be safe guaranteed.

As Rathez said, it's quite an awesome feeling to realize you're dreaming so you'll more likely be too busy enjoying it to think of scary stuff Don't expect for your dream to turn into a nightmare. Plan for it to be amazing!

I'd recommend making a plan before you go to bed. Decide what you want to do when you become lucid so that when you do realize you're dreaming, you can remember your plan and then act on it without standing around wasting time. Tell yourself "When I am dreaming, I will do X" and then be prepared to do it. If you think anything bad is going to happen, use your imagination. Call up friends to help defend you. Turn something scary into something funny as Rathez said Shout out "STOP!" and watch as the dream freezes around you so that you can change it or at least run away.

Again, don't expect the worst. Enjoy your dreams and look forward to all that is potentially possible in them. Let us know if there's any way we can help.

Simply offer your love and friendship to the object you are scared off. Use your imagination to absorb the power you find in them towards you.

If you expect something to happen, it will. Just don't think about it too much.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
