      Hi Codename, welcome to Dreamviews!

It's easier if you wake up in the middle of the night (preferably after 5-6 hours of sleep) so you're in REM, the time of the sleep cycle when it's easiest to WILD. It's extremely hard to do it right when you get into bed, because you aren't in REM. If you do manage to enter sleep paralysis during this time, you'll probably just drift asleep and fail to enter a dream.

      So...
      1) Fall asleep normally, and sleep for 5-6 hours or wake up whenever you do naturally.
      2) Get up during this time and read a book, or journal dreams you remember from earlier in the night. Do this until you feel awake, but not so awake you'll be unable to get back to sleep. No television or computer at this time; it'll stimulate you too much and make it hard to sleep again.
      3) Since you're already relaxed from sleeping, you don't have to do any relaxation exercises (but it's good to stretch because you'll probably be all stiff from sleeping).
      4) Get into bed and WILD! Keep your mind awake by counting your breaths, etc.

      Good luck. =)
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
