      Cool Hello! Muffins for all!

Hello, DreamViews! My name is Alsroge, and I started lucid dreaming in 2005. Although I was extremely interested and having relatively good success, I stopped for some reason and haven't picked it back up until recently.

I enjoy writing, so I'm assuredly keeping up with my daily dream journal. "Alsroge – Dream Journal" is the title, and you can see my first entry up already! I am starting my LD count at 0 upon joining this website so that I can track nightly from here on out. I definitely enjoy reading other DJs, and you'll see me frequent the forums, probably your DJ, and IRC. I would love to meet new people and share ideas.

I'll be entering DV Academy, but I hopefully will be able to help others out as will with the knowledge I've gained.

*hands out muffins to everyone* Nice to meet you!

Happy to have you at DV! May i ask how you attain your lucid dreams?

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      Hi Alsroge, welcome to Dreamviews!

I enjoy writing too. And, I find that recording my dreams is a great way of both improving my writing skills and just having something fun to do during the day. It's strange to look over my past dreams and see what wierd things I've dreamed about.

If you have any questions about the site or LDing, there's lots of people here that can answer them, including myself. Just ask.

      ...Do you have doughnuts?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Certainly! All of my dreams thus far have been DILDs. They range from in-dream-electronic-failure-induced-reality-checks to characters explicitly telling me that I'm dreaming. Unfortunately, my dreams are almost usually logical, so I have a tough time deciding when to perform a reality check. I'm looking for my dreamsigns so I can make this process easier.

Thanks, Puffin. Indeed, writing your dreams down is an awesome way to constantly practice, especially if you go back and rewrite/edit the entries. I find looking at my past dreams to be exhilarating, as I fall right back into them.

Thank you again for your willingness to help. Much appreciated. As for donuts – yes! But they're tangerine-flavored.

      I love baked goods!

I used to like writing a lot.. i used to be into poems! And i was a natural LD'er when i was a kid, mostly with flying and escaping my enemies. Ever since i joined DV i have learned a lot about my dreams, but havent mastered them yet. I am still trying to have my first successful LD. I have joined PercyLucid's MILD class in DVA tho, so i am VeRy excited to check that out!

Looking forward to seeing you around, sir.
And thank you for the muffin!

What changed? Do you not like writing now? And it's awesome to hear about natural LDers. I found out that my first girlfriend had lucid dreams frequently while we were dating but never told me. I'm just finding this out many years later, and we talk about it every once in a while.

As for trying to have your first successful LD: no trying. It's going to happen tonight. We're both going to enjoy our muffins, both go to sleep, and have incredible lucid dreams. Just know it.

I know you'll be seeing me around IRC. :p

Yay, we might actually have another on-topic person for #LucidDreaming.

I'll give out the rare (from me): Welcome to DreamViews!

I just kinda grew out of writing during high school, and into art.. mostly painting. Since then ive grown out of that and into sewing. And now that im out of college, i dont Have to do anything, so i dont lol. DV is the only thing im into atm, i am starting to cook a lot more tho..

I think its really cool that your ex had LD's while she was with you, i tend to sleep a lot more deep, and uncomfortable since being with my bf of 2 years. lol, I look forward to next week; i will put myself on a proper sleep schedule.

I will try a DEILD tonight, no matter what happens it will be educating!

Very much appreciated, TheUnknown. You instantly gain my respect for being a Dark Side of the Moon fan. Anybody who meets that requirement gets unlimited tangerine-favored donuts and dancing muffins for eternity.

Ah, gotcha. Writing isn't any more admirable than any other hobby, and I particularly enjoy painting, so way to go! Being out of college is no excuse, young lady! Find yourself an outlet again. I've found that having a good creative outlet sparks my dreams magnificently. P.S. cook me a sammich.

I think it's really cool too. Perhaps you should wake up and move to a different room after a few hours of sleep so that you can WILD. You'll be ultimately more relaxed. I know I'll most likely be doing this when me and my boyfriend move in together. I look forward to next week also. We both need to get our schedules straight.

Trying a DEILD is an awesome idea. Let me know how it goes!

-->Epic fail. My sleep schedule was really off compared to my alarms, which are for my bf to wake up and again to feed the dog breakfast.. If im in sync with my alarms, i have really amazing recall.. Not last night tho, thats for sure lol

Welcome to DV, alsroge (and my class - woot!)

I find DEILDing on command to be pretty difficult, at the best of times But when I'm running low on sleep, or can't do a WBTB, I usually try to wake myself up an hour before wake-up time to give it a shot All my DEILDs, to date, have been accidental. Usually because I just don't want to leave the dream I'm having, or get out of bed, hehe

Aw, sad. My night was a completely epic fail. Check my DJ for details – or lack of them.

Thanks! And yes, woot woot to that. I'm very excited.

Really? That's interesting to hear that your DEILDs aren't too easy. I always assumed those would be the easiest. Also, it's always good to hear that laziness truly does pay off. ;D hehe.

Just kidding. It was on IRC.

They're extremely easy when they're accidental

The problem I have is... if I intend to do one... like "I'm going to DEILD this morning," then for some reason, I get the lousiest recall and I end up passing out trying to recall my dream, hehe. The accidental ones are usually me waking naturally from a dream and just not wanting to wake up yet. So, I focus on the dream, I imagine myself back in it, and WHAM. DEILD accomplished
