      Effect on memory.

I was wondering if in a lucid dream if I make myself forget all that I know or get amnesia will I really get amnesia when I wake up? I know what happens in dreams does not actually happen physically since you are in bed during the time but since memory is abstract I wondered if this was possible and it kind of scares me.

      Thanks,
      Vikrant

No, I don't believe it's possible for that to happen.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Don't worry about it, I can't imagine that anything like this would be possible.
It's quite common to have "false memories" in dreams, and they don't carry over to the real world, so I don't see how anything as extreme as amnesia could.

No, the brain doesn't work that way.
