      Looking for some help!

Hey, I'm new here (which is pretty obvious, haha) was wondering if some experienced Lucid Dreamers could help me out.

To start off, I've lucid dreamt MULTIPLE times before. I used to do it a lot, when I was younger, before I even knew what lucid dreaming was. A couple years passed, without a single LD, then I randomly came upon a site, about LDing (This was about a year ago).
After successfully LDing without a problem, for a good month or two, I stopped and didn't even realize it. NOW, I came upon this forum, about a year later, and remembered LDing. And here's where my problem lies.

I've started attempting to LD, about every other night, in the last week or so. It's seemingly getting much harder, for some reason.

So, I think twice (?) now, I've been dreaming completely normally. Then, I realize I may be LDing. Almost instantaneously, everything sort of fades away, and everything becomes black. It then becomes completely obvious to me, that I'm waking up, and about to become fully awake, laying in my bed. Except... I'm not. I continue sleeping, both times without dreaming at all again. It's VERY frustrating. It's like my brain is 100% sure that I'm waking up. No doubt about it. But I don't! And I don't even realize it, 'till the morning.

Very sorry for the long post. Just tried to give as many details as possible.
Any sort of advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
I'm verrrrry eager to get back into lucid dreaming!

      Hey, welcome to DV!

So, a few question - do you keep a dream journal? Do you do regular reality checks? Have you read about any lucid dream induction techniques?

I do not keep a dream journal, nor have I ever had one during my LDing experiences. Maybe I should try that.
I have started doing reality checks, again (This is the same method I used before. When I first read about LDing) I'm not sure that's my problem, though. I don't have a problem realizing I'm dreaming. It's just once I do realize, I start to "wake up", even though I'm really not waking up at all.
I have read a little bit about the induction techniques. And I steadily learn more and more about them, every night (I'm now browsing this site, every night, RIGHT before I go to bed)

With more practice, it should be easier to stay in the dream. Try to engage with your dream environment, and don't think about waking up. Sometimes, actively trying NOT to wake up can make you think about waking up, and therefore dream that you are waking up. Does that make sense?

I've been in that blackness before. What I did was spin and repeat to myself that I'm dreaming. Though when you do that you're supposed to have a destination in mind, I didn't...

But when I stopped spinning, I saw a blurry white shape in the distance which slowly gained the shape of a door as it got closer. It opened up to a new dream and I was outta the void.

Learn to DEILD, because that might help if you are about to "wake up".

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try using these techniques, next time I lucid dream. Hopefully it'll work.
And now I'm off to learn how to DEILD...

Tip: This is when you need to stabilize your dream.
Happens to me a lot, I have a lot of trouble keeping my dream stabilized for long periods of time. This is a fairly common issue for most dreamers.
The best thing that I can do usually, is to:
Drop to the ground, and feel around on the carpet/ground/gravel/wood floor/grass, whichever works best. It usually turns out to be one of those 5 things for me. This helps me out all the time. Dream will fade to nothing but black, then I grab the floor and I re-enter the dream/enter a new dream. This is a pretty good way to chain lucid dreams that works for me.
