New on forum - My reasons and motivations

      So yeah...

Hi there! I am not very much into forum things, but well, I think this forum is pretty active (most active?) so made an account and posted! Guess that can't hurt...

Anyways. I found this site one day and been lurking here, mostly on Lucid Experiences, reading experiences and how it feels, techniques etc. I am now going on... page 103.

So... I started keeping dream journal two months ago. Dream recall improved quite good, now I remember at least 1 dream a night, 160 dreams total now. (About 50 of those are what I dreamed before starting dream journal). Well, after a month of keeping a dream journal I found out about lucid dreaming and was fascinated by it. I wouldn't have believed it but well, there is so much info about it everywhere and it has been scientifically proven... so horray!

I started working with that then... reality checks with digital clock every day, this and last week some MILD/WILD technique trying (no success yet, pretty little progress to be honest). However, this week it has been 3 times in a row that I have had very vivid dreams, totally more clear than others. I take this as a sign of progress

Speaking of signs, I also have "examined" my dreams and I seem to have very many recalling themes... so from here we get to my motivation.

I feel more motivated to get lucids than anything else, ever. You might wonder why. Well, I have noticed that I get at least one nightmare a week. And it's mostly me dying or something else happening. Now, I guess it isn't so bad, but I have never had a happy dream. Where I would be happy or feeling good doing something. Mostly it's very random things happening which make no sense at all.
I want to use lucid dreaming as a way to fight back against nightmares.

So this is me. I hope I have a good time here (we shall see if it becomes a long one). Replies most appreciated.

I've read that a lot of people get into lucid dreaming as a way to combat their nightmares.
I personally haven't had a nightmare since I was a kid. I can't even remember the last time I had one.

Anyway, welcome to the forums and best of luck with your dreams.

Yeah, thanks. I personally think that I get so many nightmares because I was bullied for... 6 years? Through school grades 1-6 I think. It caused sleepwalking anyway. And I don't watch any horror movies or anything so... I think it's some childhood issue? ( I don't sleepwalk anymore.)
