do you feel pain in a lucid dream? also can u imagine anything?

hi there, ive been asking a lot of questions because i am really curious about LD. if you think something will happen, for example something scary that will kill you, will it actually appear?also ive been wondering, dos it take intense thinking in the LD to make something apeear? ive always thought that you can accidently think bad thoughts and scare the sh*t out of yourself.

OHH, i forgot to mention, do you feel pain that you would in real life? like if you got stabbed or punched, would you feel it?

I once did the finger tug reality check, felt pain but didn't become lucid. Later on I became lucid and realised how silly that was.

In my last lucid dream I punched my hand through a glass window for shits and giggles. The glass kind of behaved like a large piece of sticky tape that had my hand pushed through it — I think my brain made it child proof for me.

So in a dream I believe you can make yourself feel pain but in a lucid my brain, and my awareness that it's just a dream, has protected me.

Also, expectations are everything in a dream so if you know or expect something will happen, chances are it will.

Yeah I have heard of the expectation thing many times, although haven't really had a good lucid myself, but yeah, expectations play a big part.
      Lucid dreaming goals:

Fly( ) Tame a recurring wolf that has been in about 10 different dreams/nightmares ( ) Fly on a Night Fury from HTTYD ( ) Ask my subconscious why I have so many nightmares ( )
Fight agent Smith ( ) Ride a huge spider to a battle against a beenest ( ) Face all of my nightmare creatures and beat them ( ) Be a god ( )

Yes, expectations are a huge thing in lucid dreams. You don't need to focus so much on making something happen, but just expect it to happen. I've compared it before to watching a movie that you're already seen, in the sense that you know what's going to happen next. Visualization helps a lot when trying to do something in a LD.

As for the pain thing, I've felt pain in dreams before, including one lucid where I got stabbed by an unruly DC.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have felt pain when i wanted to. And at the time it felt like i had really ben stabbed with a safety pin. But also one time i was shot by a DC and didnt feel a thing.

The time that i was stabbed with a safety pin it hurt so bad but when i woke up i no longer hurt.

Think bout the last time you really got hurt. You remember that it hurt right? but when you think about it you dont actually FEEL the pain. So dont worrie about getting hurt.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Not excruciatingly, but it hurt a lot.

Just a tip, if you happen to enter a nightmare or have someone attacking you and you're lucid, expect yourself to be invulnerable. Imagine the knife just scraping the surface of your skin, or the bullet ricochet off you like you were made of rubber. It's actually sort of hilarious to do this, and see the look on DC's faces when they realize they can't hurt you.
