      Hello

      Hi!
My name is Hannah and I’m almost 16. I just registered here because I’ve had lucid dreams frequently ever since I was really little (before I even knew what lucid dreaming was). They’ve become somewhat of a way of escaping reality.

Anyways I was just wondering what your non-lucid dreams generally look like and what happens in them. Whenever I ask my friends they never have an answer but you guys are probably more in tune to what goes on in your dreams.

My dreams are always either really dark, being mostly black and having darker shades of other colors or are monotonous and dark. Blood, however, is always bright red. The sky usually is a dark violet color and foggy, though in my monotone dreams it’s either black or grey. Whenever I’m inside the lights are always off though I’m usually able to see.
My dreams also tend to be excessively violent and gory. I swear if I wanted too, I could become rich off of making horror movies based off of my dreams. The violence usually involves tearing off skin (or, in one case, everyone’s skin just sort of fell off, which was creepy O.o). Also, people in my dreams almost always hate me or ignore me, even my closest friends. Big, empty areas are also very common, which makes sense because I have agoraphobia.

My friends say I have a messed up subconscious

      Hi Hannah, welcome to DV.

My regular dreams aren't like those of my friends (or really, that many other people I know). They're more surreal, and fantastical. I don't dream about simply going to the mall and seeing a teacher, or going out for coffee, but I dream about escaping police using superpowers, flying, and telling off people who are being rude to me. Fighting off criminals.

And this stuff happens in my regular dreams, so one can imagine what I do in my lucids!

As for the atmosphere of my dreams, mine usually take a contrast to what you've described. They look like stuff would in reality (light, "normal"), but are usually urgent in a sense, and I usually have some sort of goal to accomplish, whether it be to help someone out or whatever. I have lots of dreams about movie characters and plots. As for my nightmares, well, let's just say I've had a few disgustingly gory ones too. I ripped off the face of a monster once, and there was blood everywhere. Yuck.

Trust me, on DV, I'm sure you're not alone when it comes to having a "messed up subconscious".
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Welcome to DV, Hannah! I envy your natural LD ability xD

For me, my dreams generally have movement involved in them. I seem to be going somewhere most of the time, but almost never by walking. Usually it's by car or bike, sometimes via school bus O_o The tone of the dreams are decently realistic. It's usually late afternoon, and all the colors of the dream seem just as real as waking life. I have a very tame subconscious, it seems. I look forward to your posts on the forums. Again, welcome to Dreamviews!

Wow my dreams are always so boring. Sometimes I'll dream I'm just sitting in school or at libraries. Most of my dreams have people saying weird things, like asking me where a random object is, "hey ant, where's the mayonnaise?"
The only really exciting dreams I have are lucids.

      Welcome to DV!

Most of my dreams are similar to waking life, minus logical thinking. Lots of silly but boring stuff like what Anthony said above. It often instantly shifts from day to night and vice versa several times in one dream. Also most people in my dreams are either people that I know but haven't seen in years, celebrities, or fictional characters (I was hanging out with Spiderman and Optimus Prime one time). I don't really have much violence or gore though.

Most of my dreams look a lot like the waking world. They might be a bit more colorful and rich looking. Of course, if I am paying attention enough to notice, they will start to look incredible or hyper-real. Generally, as soon as I pay attention to something in a dream, it starts to intensify. This includes visuals, sensations, or even emotions.
