For months now I've attempted all manner of WILD techniques. I even had an OBE. but i could not control a thing. |

thats great to hear, youve taken your first of many steps towards lucid dreaming. |
|
Well done, i guess the first step is to lucid and the second step is about control. |
|
good job, bro |

Lucid dreaming goals:
Fly( )Tame a recurring wolf that has been in about 10 different dreams/nightmares ( ) Fly on a Night Fury from HTTYD ( ) Ask my subconscious why I have so many nightmares ( )
Fight agent Smith ( )Ride a huge spider to a battle against a beenest ( )
Face all of my nightmare creatures and beat them ( ) Be a god ( )
Well done. To overcome the excitement have this pre-planned in your mind. As soon as you realise that you are dreaming touch any object and feel its texture and look at its surfcae. You can do this with your hands, clothes, a teacup, wallpaper etc. Don't spend more than one or two seconds on an object and quickly find something else to touch and examine visually. Go through this process for about ten seconds. This will have two effects. Firstly it will take your mind off your excitement. Secondly it will stabilise and deepen the lucid dream. |

Supposed OBE: 6 (29th Jan, 3 on 10th August, 2 on 5th November)
DILD: innumerous
I agree that the best way to keep yourself calm is to have something planned in advance, and rehearsed. Plan something that will help you engage with your surroundings. You need to stay convinced that your dream body and dream environment are "real." |
|
Grats on your first lucid. |
|
Good job. Don't view the excitement waking you up as a negative, its a very common occurrence and its no biggy to get over. |
|
Wow! This must have seemed like a feeling you have never felt before! I am so proud of you that you got this close to a LD. Keep trying and soon you will go into a LD. I envy you! I am still working on dream journals/recording dreams. Best of luck to you in the future and I look forward to reading more of your posts. |
|
Good job. Keep trying. |

congratulations! You have done a brilliant job. |

Wow, I had my first LD very recently as well, and I realized I was dreaming because of a 6th finger on each hand. That's really weird. Has anybody else experienced the 6th digit thing? I've never read about anybody else experiencing this, before experiencing it myself, so it couldn't have been because of expectation or anything. I wonder where that 6th finger thing comes from. |
|
thanks fellow Oneironauts. though i have yet to get another LD (i made the mistake of using an audio recorder on my iphone as a dream journal, i need to write it down for some reason.) i'm seeing more reality clues. the 6th finger thing i found because one of my reality checks is to count the fingers on my hand. in a particularly vivid dream i noticed faces and hands were being obscured and one thing that shocked me was that i saw legible text in my dream. |
|
Congratulations on your first lucid dreaming success! |

Dont worry too much about the excitement part, it seems that from my own experiences and others, that excitement is not such a big hindrance to lucid dreaming after all. I remember being very excited on my first lucid, but it still was very stable and did not wake me up. I get excited in just about every lucid dream I have, so dont worry about the excitement part. |
