Wild should be attempted in the early hours of the morning, after give or take 3-6 hours of sleep. You lay there motionless till your body is tricked into falling asleep. You will now be conscious with your body asleep till your dream forms. Some say count or repeat mantras, some say clear your mind but try and stay conscious. |

5-6 hours into sleep is best for both WILD and WBTB. WILD can also be attempted during afternoon naps. |

"Don't kill me. I'm in a dream right now, and if you kill me I'll die in real life too!" -Me, age 5-8, talking to a dinosaur.
Welcome to the forums, both are performed by laying in bed motionless for an extended period of time. Eventually your body will think it is asleep but your mind will still be awake leaving you with an open mind and a dream world. WBTB involves the same process except you stay awake for a period of time and then go back to bed. You should learn the techniques in and out before attempting to perform them. |

Out of curiosity, is it better to try and ALMOST go to sleep? Or simply to lie there for an extended period in full consciousness? (eyes closed in a sleeping position, obviously) |

You need to remember that to WILD you must fall asleep, and remaining fully conscious isn't going to do anything because you won't sleep. |
