So I've had a few LDs before. My first happened when I was probably in elementary school, before I knew the word "lucid dreaming." I simply realized I was dreaming and started messing around. I had pretty sweet dream control for a fourth grader. Anyway, I completely forgot about that dream until I heard the term come up this year and suddenly remembered the experience.

I decided to start researching lucid dreams and how to have them. With practice, I managed to have my first short LD. The numbers of LDs increased over time as I developed a better dream recall and LD methods.

But last night, I experienced something really weird. I had taken a nap earlier that day because it had been a busy weekend and I needed to catch up on sleep. I wasn't lucid but I remembered having very vivid dreams. I went to bed again around 11PM, and I think I had a false awakening but I'm not quite sure as I don't remember much of what happened. But I remember something strange happening and I suddenly realized "is this really happening? something like this would only happen in a dream...wait!" and I suddenly became lucid. But right when lucidity hit, this overwhelming buzzing noise came over me and my dream went black except for a distant light in the background. I thought this was my dream fading, so I tried to rub my hands together but I couldnt see them. Instead, I tried spinning, but my movements were laggy almost, it felt like i was moving through jello.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this, was this a near-OBE or something? or just a weird LD?
