Well the techniques I suggested (DILD and MILD) both induce lucidity while in the dream, so you don't need to get up in the middle of the night or anything. A good idea, if you want to have regular lucid dreams, would be to try out ADA (All-Day Awareness). KingYoshi wrote a great tutorial on this, and it's helped me to have more lucid dreams.
