      Im a dreamer

Hello everyone..... I have been a vivid dreamer my whole life and have had a few lucid dreams over the years involuntarily. It wasnt until recently I began reading about trying to induce a lucid dream that I stumbled across this website. I have always been fascinated by my dreams and recently started practicing some of the basic methods to "set my self up" for a possible lucid experience.

I have had 2 lucid dreams recently. (within the last week) Both only lasted for a very short time. The first one ended almost as soon as I realized within my dream that I was dreaming. The second one I was able to hold on to the dream for about 10 seconds... then i woke up. As soon as I knew I was dreaming, I was filled with a euphoric adrenaline rush and I tried to "stabilize" the dream but I just lost my grip and woke up.

Ive had lucid dreams in the past but I wasnt 'trying' to have lucid dreams then..... Ive had amazing dreams of flying and being able to "levitate"..... last night I had a dream that I was able to play guitar really well... in the dream it was SOO realistic. (I just remembered this as I was typing)

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.

Hi and welcome to DV! The excitement will gradually settle down, and after a couple of LD's you won't wake up because of that. Got any questions? Ask away! Keep on dreaming!

Best advice is keep trying. If you can focus on the lucids you already had, having more should be a doddle, compared to trying to imagine that lucid feeling. I started 4 months ago, finally got lucky last night.

Focus, tenacity and a positive outlook will see you through, I guarantee that.

Some people do take a while to learn. Even though I tried constantly, I couldn't get a lucid before after 4 months after learning all about them. Then it took me a whole month to get another one. Then I waited for an entire year before I had any more. Then I had a few in the last few months. But I gotta say, progress is progress. Keep at it with enthusiasm and you'll surely get there, like many others on this site.

      Welcome to DV, bud.
