      noob here

Hi All, this is my first post and really my first exploration into lucid dreaming. A bit of background, I am a married Aussie living in the UK and ever since I can remember I have always been able to remember my dreams easily and a few times I even knew I was dreaming while I was dreaming. I dont know if there is any correlation, but Im also a frequent day dreamer as well.

I just heard about lucid dreaming, like two nights ago and thought 'controling my dreams, that sounds fun'. No offence to anyone else's beliefs but I'm pretty much an atheist although I do believe there is a strong mind/body connection and reality can be pretty odd.

So I guess, where to start? Can anyone recommend some good books or resources?

Welcome! Firstly, you're going to want to start a dream journal this will help you with your recall and help you notice dream signs. I recommend you go to the tutorial and have a read of the DILD and MILD guides to start you off.

      Good luck!

I completely agree with Hopsin! I would add that WBTB is also a great way to start exploring induction methods, just don't try too much at once! And welcome to the site!

Hi SweetTaylorK, welcome to Dreamviews .

First of all I would start reading some tutorials on the wiki. They are VERY helpful and have some great tips.

I would also recommend checking out this list of induction techniques. It summarizes each technique, and can help you choose one that is right for you.

If you are interested in DILD you should definitely check out the All Day Awareness Tutorial (ADA) by KingYoshi.

If you want to start off with MILD you should read this guide by Naiya.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge is an old book, but full of extremely helpful information, that is very helpful. If you want a book to read, I would recommend that.

You should also start keeping a Dream Journal, either here on the site or somewhere else. It will improve your recall even more and help you look for dream signs in your dreams, like Hosin said.

If you see an odd abbreviation here on the site that people use and don't know what it means look it up in the DV Dictionary.

If you have any questions you can always post it here on the forums or ask a Dream Guide (names are in green)

Here is a list of Dream Guides:
      -Erible
      -KingYoshi (Leader)
      -Matte87
      -Ninja9578
      -Puffin
      -Robot_Butler
      -Zebrah

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Welcome to Dreamviews! Definitely stop by the Dreamviews Wiki and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
