-How many dreams should i be recording after every night of sleep? I usually get 1 more detailed description of my dream recorded, and then maybe 1 other dream but with much less detail. Is this a decent amount of information per night in order to progress as quickly and as thoroughly as possible? - You want to record as many dreams as you can remember. Whether thats just a fragment of one, or a dozen full, vivid dreams, though for the long ones its okay if you just write down key points and notes.
-Can people count as dream signs? I've seen my brother who recently moved away in about half of the dreams i've recalled. - Of course. Anything that is recurring in your dreams from a person, a place, even a certain situation.
-With enough practice, how often can lucidity be achieved? Can lucid dreaming become almost a night-time hobby?, or is it something that shows itself every once in a while so you can't really expect it? - If you get really experiences you can have LDs pretty much every night, though you may run into some dry spells where you don't get any at all for a bit. DEILDs and WILDs are pretty reliable if you can get the hang of them.
-I'm having a little trouble developing a reality check. Can someone please give me an example of a consistently useful check? Also, when should I be doing these checks in the waking world? Do reality checks within dreams happen just by the physical habit you've developed while awake, or are they used when you've already questioned the reality you're in? - One of the most common and reliable reality checks people do is the "nose plug" reality check. It's preformed by plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it. If you can, you're dreaming! If not, you most likely aren't. Another is checking your hands for any extra fingers/oddities that may be prevalent.
Reality checks are often used once you find yourself questioning reality (such as in a DILD) or once you think you have successfully completed a WILD or DEILD. However, there have been moments where i have just randomly did a RC in a dream and became lucid, though this is quite rare (for me, at least).
Good luck and don't give up!
