Lightbulb I try the WBTB but get too overly excited/too active of a mind to do it.

As the title says, when I try WBTB, I either get a very active mind or just get too excited to be able to fall asleep, kind of like tomorrow is going to be a great day and you are too excited to sleep for it. Would the WILD method be better for me?

      Hey, welcome to Dreamviews!

Well, with a WILD you are tricking your body into falling asleep and to do that you still have to be very relaxed and not excited. You could try some relaxation techniques, and listening to relaxing music before WBTB/WILD.

I go into more detail about relaxing when waking up before a WILD (Could work with WBTB too) in my guide. You can read it here, just scroll down to the waking up section.

Good luck! If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

No problem, also how long after sleeping are you waking up? That could affect how tired you are too.

Try doing it for a shorter amount of time, I only WBTW for about three minutes.

It is difficult to judge how long to do WBTB when you are new to LD because you get so excited about it. In longer term, you settle.

Like the rest said, try it for a shorter period of time, or do it earlier on.

I set the alarm clock for about 4(I think) hours after I went to sleep.(took long enough to fall asleep) When I got up, I waited about 4 minutes and stretched a bit due to being slightly achey. I laid down, waited 10 minutes, didn't think my body even started to go in sleep paralysis.(And I kept trying different positions for about an hour, but I ended up just going to sleep due to the constant failures) I'll try waking up 3 1/2 hours or something near then. Thanks for the assistance.
