      Techniqual... Problems

Hello, there. Well, it seems that there is something going wrong with my efforts for lucid dreaming. I have tried almost every technique, but I have had just 4 lucid dreams in a year. To be more specific, I have tried meditation, MILD, WBTB, WILD (this hasn't worked for me) and reality checks, but nothing happens. However, I have noticed that in most dreams, some things seem strange to me, for example, sitting in the middle of a street, during the rush hour, but that's it. Fortunately, as I can remember, I didn't have any problem staying lucid in my (lucid) dreams; the problem is becoming lucid. Does anyone have any idea what can I do?

How long have you been lucid dreaming for? Also, how long do you keep with the same technique?

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

The more effort and thought you put into Lucid Dreaming, the easier it gets. Believe in yourself, it might be so that your confidence is low because of your success rate. You could also try some supplements to boost your chances, but don't rely on them once you start to get lucid more often.

I'm sure you'll start getting more and more, if you only keep your confidence and hopes up. Good luck!

I have been trying lucid dreaming for about one and a half year. When I started, I used to try every technique on its own, but now I used to mix them.

I think of lucid dreaming most of the time, and I try to believe that I can lucid dream, but... To be honest, this year was very tiring psychologically, so this may cause some problem. But know that everything is better, the situation remains the same.

      I Think thats the Problem

. I think you should stick to 1 technique. You cant master all techniques.. Find your best and stick to It. If you mix It its bad. For e.x. Try learning guitar and drums at once. It will be difficult, and results wil be 2x+ lower cuz you learning 2 things at once. And you wont be good at none of them, but if you stick to learn one very badly you could be a master after a while..

I agree with you, but I thing it's the only thing I have to do (that's what I believe), since no technique has produced any wanted result so far. It's so annoying! I'm on the verge of losing faith in myself. But what if I'm doing something wrong without realizing it! I can remember at least one dream per night (but usually, only one per night). I have a dream journal and I have found my "strange dream acts", but IT WON'T WORK! I'm feeling so desperate some times! (Sorry if I'm blowing your mind with all these stuff, but I think you understand me).

PS. Have you been in the same situation as me?

You should know that only practicing RCs and questioning if you're dreaming during the times you see a dream sign or something weird, will not work too effectively. You should include RCs and awareness during ordinary activities too, because sometimes in dreams you won't be aware enough to see oddities in the first place (that's often how it goes; first you become conscious and then use dream signs you see, or RCs, as a confirmation). Also, continue to supplement your techniques with a WBTB!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have tried that, as well as the WBTB technique. It didn't work, and apart from this, it took me about one hour to return to sleep. As for, reality checks, I do them about five (or more) times a day.

I am doing all these things. Do you think it's just that I have to try more?

From my own experiences, the key is to not make RCing and being aware a chore, but more of a spontaneous thing that you do when you remember to do so. RCing without a cue is probably more beneficial because cues probably won't show up in your dreams, including alarms or notes. You should also avoid making everything into a habit. Don't just RC and then brush it off; explain to yourself why you aren't dreaming, and what things might look like if you were. This keeps you on the lookout for strange things and helps raise your awareness of your surroundings.

Well, thank you all for your help. I think that your advice gave me some confidence, and I'll try harder. Thank you very much. I'll inform you about my results.

Well, it's the second time I tried the WBTB method, and it didn't help me. And instead of helping me, it worsens my dream recall. Do you think it's worth keep trying this method, or rather trying (again) an other?
