Introducing myself!

Hello my name is Max, 22 years old and Swedish. Right now I'm living in Japan though.
I have always been fascinated by dreams and enjoyed dreaming. I have always had it fairly easy to remember my dreams, i often dream adventurous dreams or just plain weird dreams so i often make sure to memorize them and tell people about them if they are interesting enough. Never used a dreamjournal before though. I have had 1 LD about 7 years ago or so, i still remembered it but i never gave it any deeper thought and it's not until last year that i actually learned that it was a so called lucid dream.
Last year i experienced some serious night terror two nights in a row and it was kind of a disturbing experience but it made me think alot more about dreams again.
And now recently i talked to a friend about it and decided that I want to take control of my dreams and be able to experience the awesomeness of lucid dreams. So i googled around and ended up here, this looked like a great site so i decided to settle down and make this my base of operation.

Welcome to the community. As Arch said, you should start a dream journal and keep at one (base) technique for a few months. Goodluck!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! i have started a DJ, only 3,5 dreams so far but i started it 3 nights ago so it's one dream each night at least.
forceez: yeah I love Japan, been here for 5 months soon and i love it! you should definitely go again! What part of Japan did you travel in?
nito89: haha so being 22 years old classifies you as a granddad on these boards? Good to know, then I'll might as well bring out my pipe and start telling some war stories.

Ah thats awesome, schooltrip to Japan sounds like the ultimate schooltrip. I'm living in Kyoto right now studying Japanese, have been to Hiroshima as well, saving Tokyo for later though. Did you go to the island Miyajima while in Hiroshima? It's a pretty awesome spot, definitely a spot i wanna visit again. Maybe even in a dream when i manage to have a lucid one!
Saving the war stories for later, i don't wanna bore you guys already^^

I did, actually ^__^ There were so many deer around, haha! Unfortunately when I was trying to take photos around that time, i didn't realise I set the camera on my phone to high contrast and all my photos were ruined! .__.

Indeed nightmares can be a great catalyst for starting to look into lucid dreaming. I had two dreams that although I do not consider them as nightmares, they challanged my beliefs and grabbed me by the heart, they were two of my most terrifying and at the same time magnificent experiences ever. And they were a big push for me to start looking into lucid dreaming, so I get where you're coming from.

I've never actually visited Japan, but I'd love to since I'm an anime fan and my fiancee is actually filipino, so it's great to hear such nice things about it.

Oh and also... is being 22 some kind of rarity here? 'Cause you can count me as +1 too
